Ethan's POV

School went by really slow but miraculously, we were out for the day. I found Gray talking to Delilah at our car. I didn't think they talked a whole lot. He seemed a little worried and her sympathetic.

"Hey," I said casually, while walking up.

"Hey, did you hear?" She asked.

"About?" I asked.

"Skylar broke up with Blake."

"She didn't deserve him,"I shrugged.

"Really, he seemed really sweet to me."

"No, he really didn't deserve someone like Skylar," I agreed with Gray.

He gave me a small look and focused his attention on Delilah.

"Well, I have to go work her in 30 minutes. I'll see you guys tomorrow," She smilled and walked off.

Grayson drove home this time. I sat in the passenger seat quietly on my phone. I was scrollig through some of the comments on the picture I last took. It took me about 20 minutes to realize that we weren't heading home.

"Where are we going?"

"You remember Klijo woods. When we were first moving here we saw it and said one day we'd go look in it?"

"Oh...I didn't think you wanted to do that," I sat my phone down,

"I just think we need a little bonding time."

"Yeah...things have been..."

"Crazy," He finsihed my sentence.

"Exactly."

We rolled up to the mini parking lot. There were no other cars. The forecast was rainy so no one would be out. Thank God I brought my rain coat. Before Gray got out, I stopped him.

"Look dude, I know things have been crazy and that I'm changing a lot. I understand that it's hard for yo-"

"Nope."

"What?"

"I don't want to talk about our problems or thoughts and feelings. I just want to go have fun with my brother."

I gave a small smile. We looked at each other for a moment and we got out of the jeep.

Exploring around in the woods was something him and I had always enjoyed. What was even better was that it was raining out now.

"Awe dude, come one." Grayson sat up from the rain puddle and mud I had pushed him in. He was drenched in even more water.

"Haha, that's what you get for outrunning me, dick."

"Whatever, whoah dude..." he looked in front of me.

I turned to look and stood in awe.

So...Gray and I are sometimes children. Especially when it comes to climbing things. Like humongous trees and long and twisted branches. Especially out in the woods while it's rainging. We took one glance at each other. We knew what was coming. Gray and I had this look. We've been doing it since we were able to walk apparently. We give each other this look and we know that we're about to race. And we just wait until one of us starts running. Given our weirdness, we usually run at the exact same time. I took off running and Grayson wasn't even a step behind me.

I jumped and grabbed a nearby branch, hoisting myself up on top of it. I looked over and saw that Grayson was already ahead. Wanting to win, I started to find ways where I could just walk up the branches and soon I was the one ahead. I stepped onto a thinner branch and my foot slipped off. I grabbed a branch above me to catch myself.

"You okay?" Gray said while continuing to climb.

"Hell yeah, that was nothing," My heart was racing but it was just a mix of the adreneline.

We continued to climb, but in the end, Gray won.

"Haha, suck it loser," I moved over near him.

"Whatever. Not right now, but I'll race you down to the bottom."

"Psh, easy. All I need to do is fall."

We both laughed.

"We should've recorded this. The fans would've loved it, " I stuck my hand in my pocket, but my phone wasn't there. I think I left it in the car.

"Nah, this a moment for us. We haven't had a good moment in a while. Besides, I think we could come up with way cooler ideas."

"I dunno, we're pretty trashy."

"You're not wrong," I gazed out into the canopy.

Even if it was cloudy and misty, it still felt amazing to be out here.

"Think we should go home?" He asked.

"Yeah, and on the way home, I have some ideas for videos that I wanted to run by you."

"Sounds good," He smiled.

We gave each other that look again. The race was on. It didn't last very long though. I thought Grayson was kidding about just falling. He wasn't.

"Dude, how the Hell, "I stepped down from the last branch," did you do that and not fucking hurt yourself?"

"I grabbed branches to hold myself and then I climb the rest of the way down."

"What if you couldn't have grabbed them?"

"Then that's another trip to see Dr. Beel," he laughed and then processed what I was saying.

"You're a fucking idiot."

"I can agree with that," he punched my shoulder and then started to walk forwards back to the jeep.
