Dan's POV

"Phil? Who- what?" Dan stuttered, as Phil quickly brought his wrist back to his chest and hid the set of digital numbers from view.

Dan put his arm down by his side. A thousand different thoughts had run through his head whilst he had made his decision to show Phil and Tyler his watch, but none of them, none of them, ended like this.

How? What were the chances that Phil would have done the exact same as Dan? Dan had completely ignored even the slightest possibility that Phil would show his watch.

Phil looked at Dan, red in the face, and stammering, "You- what- I-." he still had his wrist held protectively to his chest, and, really, looked quite as shocked at Dan as Dan did at him..

Tyler, on the other hand, looked as if either Christmas had come early, or if he was going to explode.

"Guys! Don't you see what this means?" He said excitedly, waving his hands.

"What?" Dan said, already guessing what Tyler was going to say next.

Tyler put his head in his hands. "Seriously Dan? Phil? Are you actually that blind?" He said, pointing at the two of them with his finger.

"What?" Phil asked, putting his arm down by his side again.

Tyler shook his head in disbelief. "It's obvious, isn't it?" When Dan and Phil stared at him blankly, he almost shouted: "You two! Soulmates! You both looked equally confused at each other, equally hurt, and equally curious!"

"Not a chance. That's impossible." said Phil, looking first at Dan with an almost apologetic look, before turning to Tyler.

Tyler sighed loudly. "Then, Phil, why won't you talk about your so-called-soulmate-you've-already-met?" Phil blushed a little, and mumbled "It's...private."

Dan shifted, not meeting Phil's eye. Was that true... or was it a cover up?He looked over to see Tyler roll his eyes dramatically. "Or," he said, "because they don't exist."

Phil opened his mouth, and closed it again. Tyler looked at him with a satisfied smile. "See? I'm right. You two are just too afraid to admit it."

"Admit what?" Dan said, furrowing his brow. Tyler raised his eyebrows.

"You're afraid of what people will say. Of what you're family will think. You're afraid of each other. You both are inexperienced, we all are because of the system, but you're new to love, and..."

"It's not that. That's pathetic." Dan snapped, and stood up. "Bye." Dan stood up, ignoring the looks people gave him as he walked toward the door, ignored Tyler calling him back, and ignoring the quiet words that caught him just before he slammed the door, causing several people to look up in alarm.

"Dan...wait...wait for me..."

Phil's POV

Phil sat, dismayed, at the desk as he watched Dan storm out of the room. He hadn't looked back.

Tyler had given up on shouting and drummed his fingers on the table. "So...um..." he said, looking around the room, where people were still gazing at the closed door. Even that guy who was supposedly their 'teacher' had looked up from his computer. For about three seconds.

"Tyler, I think I should go get him. Dan, I mean. Who else would it be? I- sorry, I'm just gonna go." Phil said awkwardly, before standing up. "Sorry." he picked up his bag, slung it over his shoulder and walked out the door.

"Really? Now I'm all alone." he heard Tyler say from behind him, and felt a pang of guilt, but hastily put that aside as he closed the door carefully, compared to the way Dan had slammed it in all their faces.
