The icy wind pushed against our visors as we laid in the snow, waiting, watching.

"You see anything" said Remus as he laid looking down his sniper scope.

"No, all I see is buildings...... and snow." I responded as I sighed.

The buildings were small and in random places. The snow began to turn into a blizzard. We began to see a faded object moving.

"Hey, Connor. you see that?" asked Remus.

"Yeah I think it's active camouflage." I responded as I turned a dial on the side of my helmet, "lets see what he's saying."

"The artifact has been recovered commander. The two have been aligned with each other and they began to glow, is it a sign from the great beyond?" said an elite.

"No, it is a calling. We must move quickly, before the humans locate our wealth of knowledge." said the commander.

"Yes sir."

"Ok," I said as I pushed myself of the ground," lets get the show on the road."

"Now or never."

We both charged in, avoiding turret fire and elite gun shots. An elite grabbed Remus by the leg, but before The elite could pull him to the ground, his head exploded with blood from Remus' close range sniper bullet. We went into the facility guns blazing as we killed the remaining elites.

"So this is their great icon?" said Remus.

"Probably, lets blow it."

We place a grenade beside the floating object. We ran into cover as the grenade exploded. The object collapsed to the ground.

"Next one," said Remus.

"Foolish humans don't know when to quit!!" shouted the elite as it swung its energy sword at Remus.

"Shit!" said Remus as he jumped back to avoid the blade.

"Your humanity sickens me,"Started the Elite,"All of you must be destroyed FOR THE GREAT--"

I shot the elite before it could jump at Remus.

"Sorry, looks like you needed a little help." I said.

"I had him." He said as he walked towards the collapsed elite.

"Hu.....mans. You will suffer...... You will burn........ You will Die!"

"Oh shut up." said Remus.

"Wait, what's that noise?" I said

We both gazed up to see a corvette charging it Glassing ray.

"Oh shit!" yelled Remus.

"Shirley! We need a ride!" I yelled into my comm.

"When?" she responded.

"NOW! RIGHT THE FUCK NOW!" Remus yelled as we began to run from the facility.

We ran towards the pelican as it flew low enough for us to jump in.

"Connor! I'm picking up some radiation flares coming from the corvette! We need to leave NOW!"

"GO, GO, GO!!!!!!" I yelled after me and Remus jumped on the plane.

"THIS IS GONNA BE CLOSE!!!!"
