Halo: Eclipse

Chapter 3

We entered the laboratory. It was dark, and we could barely navigate through the darkness.

"I can't see a thing...." I said," Remus try to find the generator room with your navigation panel."

All Spartans were equipped with the panels attached to their arms. It holds all intel from structures to weapons.

"Ok, I'll see what I can--." Remus was interrupted by his un-realization that there were stairs in front of him.

"Oh my, Remus are you ok!?" Shirley said.

"Yeah, so much for being sneaky." he said as he stood up.

"Nah Remus, you are, your everyday ninja." I said as I walked by trying to find a door.

"Here." i said.

The door opened to an old generator unit.

"Well, lemme see what I can do." Remus said as he walked by.

"Ok, go ahead."

The generator began to ring. The noise echo through the halls, following the sound of lights turning on.

"Haha!" Remus jumped off the generator and grabbed his sniper.

"Ok, let's see what your hiding Thompson! What!?" She looked at the screen as red letters popped up saying "USER ERROR"."User error!? What the fuck, I pushed open! How's that my fault!?"

"Calm down Shirley," Remus said as he patted her shoulder.

"Ok, you stupid dinosaur of a computer, work with me."

Our conversation was interrupted by the sound of a pipe falling to the floor. the lights went out.

"But, the generators on", I started," And the computers running, how is that possible?"

"Maybe it's an override?" Shirley said, "Ill check it out."

She walked to the doorway, but before she could open the door a shot ran through her leg.

"Shirley!" Remus yelled.

"Ah, who the--" she was knocked out by a soldier holding a assault rifle.

After she was knocked out, we fell to the ground, as we were also knocked out.

30 minutes later

"Ah" I started, "Who the hell?"

"Ah your awake." the man approached me, "I'm General Torres. Of course you probably don't know me, as I command a different station."

"Why are you here!?" shouted Remus.

"I was sent here by Colonel Thompson" he grabbed a magnum and started to talk again, "Oh, and never interrupt me again" he said as he point the gun at Remus' head.

"Do it! It will free me from seeing your face!"

"So, Thompson promoted himself." I said as I looked at Torres.

"No, command promote him since you betrayed us."

"I highly doubt that."

"What do you mean?" he said as he walked towards me.

"If all communications are down how does he get promoted, and not only that how would he be promoted if I left? That makes no since."

"What.... we'll maybe he--" Torres' sentence was interrupted by a noise down the hall. All the soldiers aimed at the door. The soldiers aimed their guns at the door as Torres slowly approached.

"Who's there!?" he yelled.

A black figure walked to the doorway. The hall lights weren't on so I couldn't see who it was. a green wave of light pushed through the doorway, and scanned the area.

"General Torres" it shouted. it pushed him out of the way and approached Shirley.

"What in gods name are you?" she said as she struggled to get off the floor.

"Scanning, Shirley Watson, Grade 5 capture." It said.

"Wait? wh--" she was interrupted by a metal arm piercing through her stomach an out the other side of her armor. she fell to the floor and it stared at her lifeless body.

"SHIRLEY! NOOO!!!!!!", Remus yelled.

A smoke grenade clouded the room. And a man on Torres' squad shot at the metal figure. the figure turned around and blew a hole in the wall. The soldier died as the rocket blew up next to him. Torres ran towards us.

"What is this thing Connor!?" Torres shouted.

"Thompson's solution to clean up the trash. And it doesn't care who it kills." i said.

"I cannot believe this!?" he said as he looked at the soldiers body.

"Well believe it, and we're next!" Remus yelled.

Torres turned and deactivated the bonds holding us.

"Quickly, we have to run!" Torres yelled.

We ran down the halls. All we could see was bullets hitting our shields. we ran outside and sealed the door. We quickly ran deep into the city.
