We hid in an alleyway as military vehicles rushed down the street.

"Wow, Thompson really wants us dead." said Remus as he peaked outside the alley.

"Yeah, he really brought the hammer down after you shot at him." Torres said as he sat down.

"I didn't shoot at him" I explained to him what really happened to him.

"Oh, that makes more since." he said.

"Yeah, so now the whole U.N.S.C. Is after us....." I said.

"Guys, look at this." Remus shouted.

We all peaked around the corner to see the town jumbo tv. It's loud speaker rang through the city.

The announcer repeated, "All civilians, the city is under lock-down. Any civilian expecting to leave the city, must bring their photo I.D. pass for clearance. Also, any person who has seen these criminals, is required to turn them into the Military forces around the city. Any person found assisting these perpetrators will be shot. That is all."

"Holy shit!" shouted Torres, "I'm up there!"

"I guess whatever that think was, was really helping Thompson." I said.

"That wasn't Thompson......" said a dark figure on the road, "Follow me."

"Should we?" asked Remus

"Better than this alley." I said as I walked behind the figure.

10 minutes later

"In here." the figure lead us into a small apartment.

"Where are we?" Asked Torres.

"This is my home." the figure uncovered its robe. "I'm Alexandra and these are my kids, Laura and James."

"Hi" said the kids as they peaked from behind their mom.

"Hello." I said as I put away my gun, "Ok Miss. Alexandra? Why did you save us. And what do you mean That wasn't Thompson?"

She say down, and tears ran down her face. She began to talk, "Thompson is my husband. He......." She paused, "he said he'd call. He never forgets a promise. But not only that, he was supposed to be back in--" her voice was interrupted by a loud explosion outside. We all stumbled to the ground.

"What was that!?" yelled Remus.

We opened the curtains. Smoke covered the window, we rolled it up. To reveal a crashed ship in the outskirts of the city.

"Is that the....." Torres looked astonished.

"Yes" I said, "That's the Spirit of Dusk."

The Spirit of Dusk was Thompson's ship. He was supposed to arrive today. The question buzzed in my mind, How did he get here before the ship?

"AHHHH"

"That's Laura!!!!!" shouted Alexandra.

"Let me go!!!" she yelled.

A soldier had her in his grip.

He began to speak, "Connor, Remus, And General Torres! You are under--" his voice was silenced by Remus' bullet shattering threw his helmet.

"Piece of shit." Remus said as he looked at the lifeless corpse.

Sirens screamed through the city.

"Those aren't police sirens" I said as I looked out the window.

All I could see was darkness. then all the sudden a large faded object broke through the atmosphere.

"Look!" I yelled.

"Oh my god. That's the....."

"You have to get our of here!!" Remus yelled as he opened the door.

"Ok, thank you again!" Alexandra said as she lead her children out of the room.

The figure hit the forest in the distance and exploded in a huge wall of fire. Screams were heard throughout the city.

"Holy shit." Torres shouted.

"We have to get off the streets." Remus said as he looked at the crash site.

"Your right" I said as I clipped my assault rifle on my back, "but were do we go?"

"To finish this fight."
