"Ready?" I ask Karen.

She rolls her eyes, "No. Does it look like I want to be the third wheel on your date?"

It's my turn to roll my eyes, "It is not a date, he has a girlfriend."

"Yeah but she's-" Karen starts.

I cut her off, "Nu-uh. Nothing bad about Christina. Maybe we just misunderstood her." I'm trying really hard to believe myself.

"Dude, I don't think you can misunderstand a snooty teen who puts on lipstick with an evil glare. Haven't you watched Mean Girls? She's your Regina George."

I roll my eyes again. I've rolled my eyes so many times this morning, that I may have a migraine. My pain is going up, down, and sideways.
(I'll go home now.)

"Maybe she was just uncomfortable," I reason, "I mean we did walk in on her and her boyfriend sucking each other's faces off."

"Believe what you want, but I'm still not going," Karen says.

-----------------------------------

"Hey Besson," Karen says mad.

"You came," Corbyn says.

Karen glares at me, "Not voluntarily," she pauses and looks back at Corbyn with a smile, "I didn't want to intrude on your little date."

Corbyn's eyes get wide. I smack her on the arm, "She's kidding."

"No I'm not. So I'll let you two be and I'm going to go to McDonald's." She waves bye as she walks away, "See ya."

I'm so going to kill her when I get home.

Corbyn and I just awkwardly stare at each other for a minute. He scratches the back of his neck. I mess with my hair.

"Should we run now?" I ask.

It takes us about six minutes to run around the block. Corbyn beats me again. I'm about to get to Corbyn but since I'm still running and I'm a klutz, I trip over the benches leg.

Corbyn runs over as I'm about to fall. I still manage to put all of my weight on him and we both go tumbling.

I fall right on top of him.

"Hi," he says putting a piece of my hair behind my ear.

"Hi," I say out of breathe. Then we both lean in and well, I kissed him. The piece of hair he put behind my hair falls across his face.

We kiss for a couple of seconds. I pull away as soon as I realize what I've done.

"I'm sorry," I say getting up.

"No I'm the one who's sorry. Oh man. What have I done? Christina and I are gonna... I should've stopped you, " he starts pacing and runs his hand through his hair.

"This is all my fault. I shouldn't have kissed you, I don't know what came over me. I totally understand if we can't be friends anymore."

I look down at my shoes. I am so embarrassed. I let my feelings take over and now I've lost a friend.

Corbyn stops pacing and looks at me, "But I didn't want to stop you."

I look up to see him walking towards me. He stops when he's about half a foot away.

"I should've stopped, but I didn't," he says slowly getting closer, "Nor did I want to."

Then he picks my chin up and kisses me again. I don't want to kiss back but it's too hard not to.

"Christina," I say against his lips.

He sets my head back down, but doesn't step away.

"Obviously I'm going to have to talk to her," he says, "But it's not her I want to be with if it wasn't obvious."

I don't want to be happy because of what we're doing to Christina, but I am.

This chapter had me quaking. I didn't even know this would happen. Ughhhhhhh.

I was like, "Well we have to build up to the kiss," my mind was just like, "Sorry, this has to happen. It the perfect timing."
