Chapter 26

Kali's POV

Corbyn's already driven away.

"Do you think he'll find her?" Daniel asks.

"I don't know," I say grabbing my keys, "But we'll find out. Let's go."

Jonah, Jack, Zach and Daniel walk out to get in the car already.

Karen puts her hand on my shoulder, "We'll stay here and I'll call of she comes back."

I nod and run to the car.

I jump into the car and star it.

Jack is in the passenger seat. He's about to grab my hand, but I pull away.

He nods as of he understands what I'm thinking.

I just feel bad for Zach. I have to tell him now.

"Can you take my car Jack?" I say, "I'll take your guy's."

He gets out and switches to my seat.

"Zach can you come with me?" I ask.

"Of course," he sounds shocked.

Jonah hands me his keys. I get to their car with Zach in the passenger seat.

"I have to talk to you," I tell him pulling out of the driveway.

His hand shakes, "What is it?"

Zach's POV

Why is my hand shaking? I hold it with my other one.

Is she going to tell me what I think she is?

"So I... I heard something," Kali says.

"What might that be?" I ask.

She drives onto a highway, "I heard you... l-like me."

"You did?" I scratch my neck.

She sighs, "Yes. And I'm sorr-"

"It's okay," I cut her off, "I know you like Jack."

Her eyes widen, "How?"

I laugh, "I heard you guys talking last night. I walked past to go to bathroom and I saw you guys kiss."

"I'm sorry," she repeats. 

I laugh again, "It's okay. Really I'm happy for you."

I really am okay too. I may or may not have seen secretly wanted then to get together.

They're just perfect for each other.

"Shouldn't we be looking around for Y/ n?" I change the subject.

"Yes."

She stays quiet for a while.

"Kali. Seriously. It's fine, I like you and Jack together." I try to reassure her, "Trust me I like you a lot, but no where near as much as Jack likes you."

She laughs.

"But if you crush his heart, we can't be friends," I say, "If he breaks yours, I'll beat him up."

We both laugh.

I really like Kali, but I think it would be better to stay friends. That way I won't lose her.
