That evening, the Jedi and her husband talked about Jaden Katarn, their daughter's boyfriend. Dash shook his head.
"Even though I like the young man, I don't know if it's good for our daughter to be with that pilot, Nomi. What if he gets killed in action? I can see how Corran is suffering from the loss of his first great love. I want to spare our daughter that."
His wife looked at him thoughtfully.
"Did we have such concerns when we got together?"
"That was something completely different. You were a smuggler then, not an Alliance pilot, honey."
The Jedi smiled as she thought about how she had met her husband. It hadn't taken long for her to fall in love with the self-confident Corellian. At the same time, she also remembered how she had suffered when she thought he had been killed when Prince Xizor's skyhook was destroyed. She had been pregnant with the triplets at the time.

Nomi was torn from her thoughts when there was a knock at the door.
Her husband stood up and opened the door. It was Leia, who wanted to visit them, as she had said when they had met on the landing pad. Dash let the general in, but didn't close the door behind her.
"I'm going to see our boys. I'm sure you have a lot to talk about and I think I would only disturb you."
As soon as he had said that, he had already stepped out of the door and made his way to the crew quarters of the male pilots.
As soon as her husband had left, Nomi approached her friend and hugged her.
"I'm glad we're finally meeting in person again, Leia. Please have a seat."
The Jedi pointed to one of the folding chairs, and the general walked over and sat down. Leia seemed extremely tense.
Nomi fetched a pot of Blum fruit tea from the small kitchen and filled two mugs. The leader of the Resistance gratefully accepted the hot drink. Nomi sat down next to her and looked at her questioningly. The general sighed.
"You're not just here to chat with me, am I right?"
"I don't know where to start, Nomi. It's all so ..." She faltered and looked at a point that seemed light years away. "Luke's been gone for so long. After the disaster, he just disappeared and no one knows where."
Nomi took her friend's hand.
"You mean the betrayal by Ben, don't you?"
Leia swallowed hard before nodding, tears streaming down her cheeks. It hurt Nomi to see this otherwise strong woman like this. The general wiped away her tears.
"We should have realized what was going on with our son, Nomi. Han couldn't cope with the whole thing and is avoiding me. I would need him so much right now. I still love him, despite the problems we have. But we've become more and more estranged. I don't even know where he is now." She took a sip of tea. "And that Luke just disappeared...I would never have expected that from him. My brother was always a fighter. The events must have hit him hard to cause such a reaction. If only I could find him."
Nomi looked at her friend with sympathy.
"Luke came to us on Dagobah. Shortly after the attack on the academy by Kylo Ren and his henchmen. He flew away in the early morning, but he gave Dash something," she paused briefly before continuing. "An ancient data storage device that we were supposed to take to a certain Lor San Tekka on Jakku. Perhaps it contains a clue to Luke's whereabouts."
Looking at Nomi, Leia was full of hope.
"I know Lor San Tekka and I know how to reach him." She jumped up and hugged the Jedi. "You have given me hope. I will send Commander Dameron to Jakku to retrieve this data storage device. Hopefully it really does contain a map that will lead us to Luke's location."
Then she hurried off, once again the feisty woman Nomi remembered.
