While Nomi and Dash caught up on what they had missed during their separate voyages in hyperspace, Poe Dameron called together those he was almost certain would join his impending mutiny.
When Corran arrived at Poe's quarters, everyone was already gathered and looking at him as he entered the room. He inclined his head, walked over to the only empty place and leaned against the wall. Poe stood in the center of the room and took a deep breath before he began to speak.
"You all know what's happening on the bridge right now. They're refueling the transports to evacuate the Raddus. The last capital ship we have. Holdo wants us to sit in the transports with no weapons and no shields. The First Order can turn us into space dust without us being able to fight back."
When those present heard this, a murmur went round the room. Dameron commanded silence with a gesture of his hand.
"I have asked you here because we can't allow this. Our current leader refuses to inform us of her plans. What she is doing now is not an option in my eyes. She is about to destroy what the general has built."
This outraged those present all the more.
Lieutenant Connix nodded in agreement before taking the floor.
"Poe is right. General Organa would never agree to what Vice Admiral Holdo is doing. What we need is time. Time for Finn and Rose to complete their mission to disable the tracking device on the First Order's Mega-Class Star Dreadnought. And we're the only ones who can give them that time."
Corran nodded in agreement as Dameron spoke up again.
"It will only be a few hours before the transports are refueled. We have to act before they man them and our comrades board. If we can't, we'll send them to certain death. Now listen to my plan."After Dameron explained his plan to his co-conspirators, he beckoned Lieutenant Connix, Ello Asty and two pilots whose names Corran couldn't remember.
"Set your blasters to stun. I don't want anyone killed." He smiled at the four of them. "Meet me in the hangar bay where the transporters are at 1100. I'm pretty sure the vice admiral will be there to oversee the evacuation."
The four nodded and Poe turned his attention to the young Rendar and the others he had gathered in the room.
"You'll stay behind as backup in case anything gets out of hand. I doubt everything will go smoothly, to be honest. Holdo has a bit of a reputation for being a tough opponent."
"So you're expecting trouble, Poe?" Corran asked cautiously.
Dameron crossed his arms in front of his chest before answering his friend's question.
"Yes. Have you ever heard of a mutiny that wasn't met with resistance?"
The young Jedi shook his head.
"Not really," came Corran's reply.
His friend grinned broadly.
"See, that's why I need you as backup. I'll see you in the hangar and keep a low profile until then."The would-be mutineers nodded and left Poe's quarters to return to their workstations until it was time to take action.
