Chapter 13:
Blackmail pt.2

●Natsu's Pov●

My body still feels warm after Lucy's touch disappeared.

I feel almost giddy that we just agreed to be fuck buddies.

Well, at least she's thinking about it... and I didn't exactly make it clear it was like that... whatever.

I lean back against the wall and brush my fingers over my swollen lips.

I can safely say that the kiss this time wasn't my fault.

I can't exactly say why being friends with benefits with her is so exciting, but it makes my adrenaline pump in a way it hasn't before.

Maybe it's just the feeling of doing something we're not supposed to.

I stand in the messy janitors closet trying to gather my thoughts, I really wonder how she can collect herself so easily after something like that.

The doorknob jiggles suddenly and I turn, half expecting the janitor or Lucy to come walking through.

Both were wrong as I recognize the pink hair of Meredy as she slips through the door, closing it behind her.

"Aren't you supposed to be in class?" Is my immediate question to her, becoming guarded instantly.

A stupid question at that, I am only focused on how I would explain why I am in here.

"Aren't you?" She twists the question back on me.

"Touche" I stay leaned against the wall.

She stays silent for a long moment, looking at me from her place leaning against the door.

"I saw Lucy leave and I figured you were in here with her" the hairs on the back of my neck stood to attention as she locks the door.

"We were just talking" I cross my arms to prevent myself from fidgeting "About you knowing, I mean"

She nods slightly as she looks around the room.

"Thanks for that by the way" I clear my throat and she turns her attention back to me "but.. I was kind of wondering why you did that"

She smiles and I can't help but admire how white her teeth are, I can admit she's cute.

"Well, obviously I didn't do it for nothing" she takes a step forward, and oddly enough I start to feel trapped.

Lucy did say to stay away from her.

"What do you mean?" I furrow my eyebrows watching her cautiously.

"Everyone thinks we have a thing now" she shrugs "why not make it real"

I didn't quite register what she said for a few split moments.

I blink at her "what?"

She takes another step forward "We can fool around" she tilts her head a bit as she hugs herself "in secret if you'd like, or make it public, I don't mind"

I choke a bit "what makes you think I would want to fool around with you?" It came out harsher than intended.

She looks hurt by my words, and her expression turns annoyed "because if you don't, I'll tell everyone about you and Lucy"

"Lucy and I are just friends" I narrow my eyes as she snorts coming closer.

I'm already pressed up against the wall, I couldn't get around her even if I tried.
