Chapter 19: The proposal
●Lucy's Pov●

School is the same as always, but this time I have the task of asking Sting out to homecoming, and I can't focus for the life of me in class.

It's not like I don't want to ask him out, it's just that I never had to be the one to do the asking.

Plus I'm not sure if Natsu is actually mad at me or not.

I cant find a reason why he would be, besides not being able to get into my pants if I become taken.

The lunchroom is packed as I sit at my usual table; my eyes trained on Stings table intently, waiting for him to arrive.

"Whats up with you?" Gajeel asks from across the table, he has been staring at me the entire time I have been spaced out, silently worrying if Sting would reject me.

I mean Sting and I aren't necessarily  close, we're friends but not close friends.

Gajeel spoke loudly since we were the only ones at the table so far, everyone else around us at other tables caught up in their own conversations.

"I'm going to ask Sting to homecoming," I say it bluntly, knowing that everyone would find out about it eventually, whether or not he accepted me.

Gajeels face is priceless.

"You're asking out someone? Aren't people usually the one asking you?" He inquires actually curious.

I shrug, knowing I've gotten a few offers, but none of them were serious.

"I really haven't got any this year, so I decided to take matters into my own hands" I turn to look at him and give him one of my cute smiles; charming "Plus it is senior year, I don't want to be alone on my last homecoming,"

"I'm sure a lot of people want to ask you, but are just too afraid." He clears his throat, his eyes scanning the noisy lunchroom, as if looking for somebody "You are kind of scary, Luce."

Hearing him use my nickname is amusing.

I shrug once more "Well, if no one is going to ask me, even if they want to, then I'm not going to wait" I sit back in my chair, my eyes wandering back to Sting's table.

"Do you like him or something?" He leans forward, suddenly interested in why I was asking Sting of all people "I did see you at the party with him, and you guys did seem kind of close"

My laugh was loud, drawing a few eyes "I was just drunk and he was taking care of me" I lean forward as well as if I were going to tell a secret, my blonde hair falling over my shoulders "I wouldn't mind being more than friends with him though, he is cute and is really nice."

"Whos cute?" Juvia sits herself down in the middle of us, a persons length from each of us equal.

Her lunch was the same as usual and I eye her blue Doritos.

Her clothing consisting of skinny jeans and floral off the shoulder shirt, perfect for the summer weather.

She tosses them to me willingly "I gave you the means to avoid starvation, now spill" Her expression is playful yet stern.

"She is asking Sting out" Gajeel blurts with a pleased grin.

"Shut up, dude" I lean over the table with my long ass arms to smack him "Let me say it!"

"Oh my god! really!?" Juvias loud tone caught more attention.

"Wait, wait, wait" I wave my hands, totally forgetting about the chips in front of me "I'm not asking him out-"
