Chapter 17: girl problems
●Lucy's pov●

"Who are you taking to homecoming?" I was knocked out of my stupor by Levy's question.

"Homecoming? When's that again?" I yawn a bit as we both sit in our English class, right before lunch.

She looks at me with a confused expression "aren't you always the one who's hyping everyone up for this?"

I tap my nails against the wooden desk, giving her a bored look.

Of course I love school activities, but recently I have more pressing matters to attend to... not really.

"I forgot about it this year, gimme a break." I tap her foot with mine playfully.

She rolls her eyes as she looks back to our partner project "I don't know how you didn't notice, the posters are up everywhere"

I lean back in my chair, crossing my arms "Maybe I'm going blind."

She let's out a snort "It's this Saturday."

My eyes widen slightly "Wait, really?"

Maybe I really have been in my own head too much.

"Yes, really. Everyone has already gotten their dates" she then turns to me fully.

I'm surprised I haven't seen the spam of homecoming dresses on Instagram yet.

I pout slightly "Do you have one yet?" I ask talking about her date to homecoming.

She let's her eyes roam the chatty class, shaking her head "No, I don't even have an idea for one yet."

I grab her hand "Good. Be mine."

She pulls her hand away with a laugh "Hell no Luce, this is our last homecoming, I want a real date"

"Awe, come on!" I whine, giving her puppy dog eyes, my heart slightly aching.

"No" she looks back to her paper "that was acceptable for freshman year, but not this year"

"But I don't want to go alone" I whine further.

"You'll find someone." she says confidently, not bothering to look up at me, a small smile on her face.

I let out an unladylike snort "Yeah right."

She smacks my arm "don't start with me Lucy, any boy would die to get with you" her face is firm.

"Exactly, I don't want just anyone" I pout as I look around the classroom "I want someone I know"

"Just take Natsu then" she says as she begins to write on our papers "I'm sure you'll be doing him a favor so he doesn't get stuck with some hoe"

Natsu did have a bad habit of getting wrapped up with shitty girls, they all just play with him.

"No way" I shake my head "I want someone I can actually date"

She peeks at me out of the corner of her eye, her nose wrinkling a bit "you're right, you dating Natsu would be weird... you guys are like siblings at this point."
