Chapter 18: disagreements
●Lucy's pov●I lay on my bed, debating whether sending this text is the right thing to do.
To Natsu🔥: Hey, I don't think this matters, or that you care... but I was thinking of asking Sting to Hoco, and I just wanted to let you know...
I stare at the unsent text, my thumb hovering over it.
It's not like it's any of his business who I'm taking, but it still feels like I should tell him.
What if he doesn't care and I embarrass myself?
What if he's already taking someone else?
What if he wanted to ask me?
I let out a snort "Yeah right." He would never even think to do that.
I hit send before I can rethink it; it's better to let him know, and be safe then sorry.
Levy is supposed to come over and help me come up with an idea to ask Sting to Homecoming.
Honestly, I'm nervous about it, which is weird.
I let out a breath, sitting up.
Maybe I should just go alone? Or not go at all?
My phone digs.
I glance at it, the notification showing Natsu's name.
That was quick.
I open it just as quick as it was sent.
Nastu🔥: Why Sting?
It was short, but straight to the point.
I blink; I expected something longer? maybe for him to be mad?
To Natsu🔥: Why not Sting?
It was almost as if I were challenging him by sending that.
I shut off the screen and toss my phone across the bed: landing precariously close to the edge.
I stand and pull off my sweatshirt, throwing it onto the bed as well, now just wearing my baggy T-shirt.
I was beginning to sweat, probably because of the un-needed nervousness.
The doorbell rang just as my phone dinged.
I ignore my phone and make my way downstairs to meet the person at the door, who I assume is Levy.
The hardwood floor is cold as always as I walk across it.
"Open up, Nerd!" I hear Levy shout from behind the thick wooden double doors.
I tug open the heavy door with a scowl, trying to hide my smile of amusement.
"Who are you calling a nerd?" I ask as she brushes past me, making a B line for the kitchen.
I shut the door and follow after her quickly; surprisingly she moves fast with her shirt legs.
She has multiple plastic bags hanging from her arms, and she plops them down on the counter loudly.
She waves a hand turning around to look at me, leaning against the counter.
"I brought the necessities; thinking food" She gives me a cheeky smile.
I roll my eyes "I won't even be able to fit into a homecoming dress if I eat that" I say looking at all the chips and candy she brought.
