Beach walks and talks:
Lucy's pov

I step out of the car onto the black pavement, a small burst of excitement making me jumpy.

I haven't been to the beach in months and it felt good to be back as the sky turns pink, orange, and yellow.

Sting started walking towards the wooden bridge path that leads to the sand, signs set up with reminders and warnings.

I notice he carries an empty backpack on his shoulder.

I quickly follow, a small childish giddiness filling me up.

"The sun is already setting" he points out, pausing to kick off his shoes and setting the back on the last panel of wood.

It makes sense now.

I kick off mine quickly and give him a devious smile, pushing them over with my well manicured feet.

He snorts and rolls his eyes, pushing our shoes into his burgandy bag.

"Let's go, loser" I chime, running down to the edge of the water, just barely touching the wet sand.

I think it's kind of funny to give him a hard time.

He ran up next to me with a puff and scowls at me.

"Don't make me push you in" he teased before turning to walk down the beach.

The wind blew slightly and it all just seems so serene, like something out of a movie.

I keep having that same thought and it's just crazy.

I trail after him, my gaze fixated on the beautiful colors in the sky, trying to remember when was the last time I took the time to look at the sunrise or sunset.

"So..." I hear him start in front of me, his hands stuffed casually into the front of his ripped jeans, which he managed to roll up slightly before walking out here.

I brace myself for the question 'why did you ask me to homecoming?'

"...pineapple on pizza?" He glances over his shoulder.

I can barely see his mouth, but I can barely make out the start of a smirk; he knew that was what I was anticipating.

I roll my eyes "no thanks" and do a small jump to get into step with him.

He runs a playful hand over my hair, which startles me for a moment before I remind myself that it's just Sting.

"Okay," he chuckles "that was going to be the make it or break it"

I roll my eyes once more and shake my head, turning my attention to the water, switching sides with him so I can be closer.

We fall into silence walking along the sand, further and further away from the main beach.

"I've always like the sunsets..." I trail off slowing down my pace realizing we've come quite away "but I haven't really taken the time to see them"

He notices me slowing down and comes to a stop "I mean, we can always come again" his smile is genuine.

I plop down on the warm sand where I stand, liking the vacant place we have chosen.

"I like that idea" I smile up at him as he takes a hint and sits down beside me.
