Dinner date:
●Lucy's pov●
UneditedI don't think I've ever been on a real date before... where a boy takes you out and treats you like the important one.
The fact that Sting is sitting across from me eating his chicken strips from Red Robin wasn't quite setting in.
I could care less where we ate, and red robin felt like a good settle between expensive and cheap.
I have two different types of milkshakes in front of me; I couldn't decide which ones to choose so he insisted that I just get both.
I sipped on my oreo milkshake as I studied his facial features.
He was distracted by the big TVs showing the different channels available on the wall, the lights changing his eyes different colors.
I feel lucky that boys like Sting and Natsu want my time.
Natsu...
I feel sort of bad still... but why?
We are not dating and I shouldn't feel bad over someone who doesn't want a commitment.
I smack myself internally and focus on Sting.
"Honestly, I'm glad that you're so chill." Sting speaks up turning to look at me, catching my admiring eyes.
I blink, pushing down my embarrassment "what do you mean?"
He leans back, brushing is soft hair out of his face "Every girl that I've taken out so far has such high standards..." he grimaces "it's like they knew they weren't going to give me a chance at the start of it"
My stomach drops and I suddenly feel guilty.
I would never do that to him, this feeling has me fidgeting in uncomfortablness and confusion.
"Girls at Fairy tail really aren't worth all that drama" I say flatly, because they really aren't.
"Even your friends?" He quips, eyebrows raised.
I wave a dismissive hand "Obviously not, I just mean everyone other than them"
He laughs a bit, his beautiful eyes squinting "isn't that a little partial?"
"I mean, you've seen them..." I trail off "and you've shot your shot..." I trail off once more.
"Yeah, you're right." He deadpans with a grim look.
I giggle "Anyways, I don't see how you couldn't fit high standards" I sip more of my milkshake.
He rolls his eyes and looks back to the Tv arrangements, a slight hint of pink on his ears.
I fall silent going back to my awkward admiration of him, munching on my ceasar chicken wrap.
Again, it still blows my mind that boys like Sting and Natsu are interested in me, it really just gives me a boost of confidence.
I always knew I was pretty, and I know I try my best to keep in shape and stay healthy, but it's still surprising that it's all paying off.
I pause, then thinking of the encounters I had with Natsu.
I really hope that if everything comes to light... that I'm not going to get shit for it... especially from Sting..
I don't want to be seen as a slut... because that's not my intentions, I'm just scared of being used.
"What do you want to do afterwards?" Stings questions caught me off guard.
I didn't expect him to want to do more afterwards, just drop me off at home like everyone else.
I lean back in my seat thinking about it, and coming up with nothing "what are you thinking?"
He paused as well, probably not having a plan either.
We stared at each other for a moment, both dumbfounded on what we should do.
"Go for a walk?" He shrugged, his face still unsure with the idea.
I shrugged as well, a walk didn't sound that exciting.
"A walk where?" There wasn't very many places to walk where there is nice scenery.
He paused, his eyebrows pulling together as he thinks about areas that would capture my attention.
"What about the beach?" He suggests, a slight twinkle in his eye "the sun is about to set"
I perked up at the idea, I've always wanted to have one of those sappy movie moments on the beach while the sun is going down.
But at the same time I don't want to move too fast with Sting... so it'll be a slight movie moment.
"Yeah, that sounds good to me." I give him a cheeky smile which he returns.
His eyes drift down to my half finished milkshakes and his smile gets a little bigger.
"Too much for you?"
I clear my throat, knowing I couldn't fit anymore food or drinks inside of me "no, I'm just trying not to fall into a food coma"
He rolls his crystal blue eyes and waves over a waitress.
"I can tell you're full" he looks at me from under his lashes "just put it in the freezer when you get home, they're still good that way"
My heart fluttered.
I don't have as many moments of giddiness around Sting, but when I do, they are just as powerful as when I'm with Natsu.
"Okay" I murmur, looking away from him so he can't catch my blush over something so trivial.
We end up sitting in silence for a couple of minutes, just watching the TVs and playing games on the small iPad, before the waitress comes over with our boxes.
I stand up once finished and brush out my clothes from sitting for an hour or so.
I catch the eyes of a couple of guys around the room and I frown slightly.
I'm used to the glances and stares I get just from dressing how I'd like and looking the way I am, but it's still annoying especially if I'm with someone I like.
I grab my stuff and stay close to Sting as we walk out, the restuarant pretty busy as always.
I feel a hand rest on the small of my back, and I turn ready to smack whoever laid a hand on me.
I pause and relax once I realize its Stings hand on my back, gently guiding me to the front of the restuarant.
It doesn't surprise me that he notice their stares as well, he seems like the protective type.
I can't focus on anything but his hand as he opens the door for me and gently nudges me out.
We walk to the car, the blue sky starting to turn orange and pink as the sun sets.
"Well we should probably hurry before the whole thing is over" he looks down at me with a soft smile.
"Yeah..." I smile back, quickly moving out of his reach and to my door before a kiss or anything could happen.
I don't want to go fast... I want to start with Homecoming and see where it goes.
I slide into my seat, excitement crawling up my throat.
Another adventure with Sting.
Thank you for waiting!!! ♡
This chapter isn't anything crazy, but the good stuff is coming up ;)
Any guesses for what happens next chapter?
