Alex's POV
After the chat with Saphs mom we made our way to a portal she sent us to. It looped through dense forest and away from any civilization, like it was hidden...
"You smell that?" I looked up from the map to look at Noir who suddenly started walking faster.
"Smell what? HEY wait up!!!" He shot forward suddenly and bent to pick up something. Catching up I looked at the object... Or better said, the piece of clothing....
A very dark thin cloak.
"Noir, its a cloak, what, you smell clothes now?" He glared at me and rolled his eyes.
"No Alex... This has to be Saphs cloak, I can faintly smell her on it."
"Oh! Think you can get a scent to track her?" Again he glared,
"I'm not a dog Alex... But yes... I can track her." He took a sniff and then black fire consumed the cloth. "She went this way, lets keep going."
As we kept walking we came to a rock face. Both the map and her scent led to it, looking at each other confused we walked toward it. A rift suddenly opened,
"A portal... This must be it, let's go Noir!" I jumped passed him, wanting to see Saph safe again. Soon he followed and we walked out of a cave on the other side, to the entrance of a village....
It could be called more than a village, temples, lakes, valleys.... This place looked like something out of a story book.
"The Safe Haven.... We must be close to Saph by now Noir!" He nodded and started to walk forward, only to be stopped by another portal opening.
Thanatos POV
As I stepped through the portal I was hit with the smell of darkness. In rage I turned to find Noir and Saphirs student Alex standing behind me.
"YOU!!!" the child blinked and stepped closer,
"I don't have time bone man, I have a God to tango with." He walked around me like I was nothing, irritated I grabbed his arm and pulled. With a his he turned blood red eyes my way,
"Our contract stated that my duty was to protect Saphir with real intentions. These ARE real intentions, your student is my mate and is now In trouble, yet you stand here and prevent me from helping her?!? MAKE UP YOUR MIND MAN!" I saw more red, the insolence of this child,
"Why have you only NOW began your search?! Saphir has been missing for over a week, no calls, no messages.. Nothing! I've been searching... The fates have searched! YOU DID NOTHING-"
"BECAUSE I LOST HER SCENT!!!! If I had known this would have happened I would not have left her to her space! You have no idea how I feel inside knowing something could have happened to her!!! NOW LET GO SO I CAN GO GET HER!!!"
With a growl he again tried to pull his arm away, in his struggle I caught a different scent. Moving his arm a saw 3 jagged, raw looking slices across his arm.
"You dare say you care for Saphir, yet carry
another's scent on your body?!?!" I was ready to strike, Nevermore beating slightly,
"That is a matter that only concerns your student! Release me!" In a loud snarl he tore his arm away from me and kept walking into the village.
I followed after the human Alex walked after him. I saw from afar as the boy changed, darkness seemed to thicken around him the closer we got to saphir... He grew broader, defined, and when we reached Lady Bastets house... His voice startled Me,
