"Where do you think you're going?" The voice said.
"Papi." She croaked.
"It's almost twelve! And you're walking here alone! Did you not think of how dangerous is that?" Her father's voice was laid with concern.
"Your mother's so worried about you. Where have you been mija?"
"Papi, I'm okay." Camila said, finally finding her voice.
"Get in the car. Let's get you home." Her father ushered her.
"Can we like, uhm, just, like-just drive around a bit? I don't really feel like going home yet."
Her father looked at her worriedly. He just nodded and drove around, not saying anything.
"Papi. If I happen to love someone you didn't think I would, would you hate me?" She asked, breaking the silence.
Her father reached for her hand and squeezed it lightly.
"Camilita, I don't really care who or what you love. As long as you're happy. That's all I want." He replied.
"Do I need to question this person any day now?" He continued.
"Papi no. I'm not sure if she even likes me." Camila said, not bothering to hide the fact that it's actually a girl.
Alejandro shifted in his seat, realizing her daughter is in love with a girl. He was shocked for a second, but then knowing Camila all her life, he didn't doubt the possibility.
"I'm sure she does. Who wouldn't like you?"
"You're just saying that cause you're my dad."
"Don't tell Sofi, but you're my favorite daughter."
"Papi. Sofi just recently told me that you told her she's your favorite!"
"Well, can you blame me? I love my two prinsesas." He winked.
-
"I fucked up. I fucked up so much." Lauren muttered on the third period and Camila isn't showing up yet.
She contemplated on calling her, but she's afraid she wouldn't answer.
What the hell Lauren. How would you know that if you wouldn't fucking try?
Al was chuckling in his seat.
'Stop. You're literally over-reacting.'
'Shut up. Why is Camila not here yet?'
'I don't know. Maybe some girl she really likes rejected her when she finally had the courage to let her know.'
'You're not really helping Al.'
'I got something that could help.' Al said and he scrambled through his bag to pull two tickets.
Lauren stared at him. Al placed the tickets at her desk.
'Make sure that before you went home, she's your girl." He winked.
"Thank you." Lauren said out loud.
-
"Are you still not feeling well?" Dinah said on the phone.
"I'm good now. I just went home late last night so I didn't get any sleep. I'll be back by Monday." Camila replied.
"Ally promised to drop by at Mani's house later. Probably girls' night out again. Do you wanna come?" Dinah offered.
"I'd probably stay home for now. I'm not really ready to see Lauren."
