Before Lauren dated her first love, she used to write a lot.

She wrote poems that would make you wonder why you didn't love poetry in the first place. She wrote stories that would either make you laugh or cry. She wrote stories that would bring you to another world.

When they started dating, she wrote a lot about their relationship. About love, about the kisses they shared. About the moments that she forgot who she is when they're together. She wrote about happiness, about falling in love. Her poems would always rhyme perfectly as if everything is right. Because everything just felt right.

When they broke up, she tried writing so hard. She tried to write about hearts getting broken, about trust being crumpled like a piece of paper, about betrayal. She tried writing about falling out of love and how fucked up everything is. How overrated love is. Her poems stopped rhyming now. Because poems are organized. Heartbreak isn't. Poems have patterns. Pain doesn't. It's staying up until 3 am crying your eyes out. It's trying to write a damn sentence but ending up ruining the paper from your tears. Not a perfect, balanced poem.

When she finally moved on, she can't write at all. She doesn't bother touching her journal from her top drawer. She busied herself with a lot of things that she forgot she used to write. She forgot that it was, at some point, her life.

But then she met Camila. And she started writing again.

And she wondered why the hell did she even stopped.

It's the second month of school when it happened again.

Lauren is walking with Camila by the hallway, talking about the next book date they should have. Lauren learned that the book Camila chose for her is called 'Red Queen' written by Victoria Aveyard and she's really fascinated by it. She always liked dystopian books and how the authors can make a whole new different world just with their words.

Camila, on the other hand, was reading Lauren's anonymous choice of book which is called 'Tell Me Your Dreams' by Sidney Sheldon. Camila hasn't stopped talking about the book. How it's fast paced and mysterious and how it kept her from sleeping at night because she would always compromise for another chapter. She would often come to school groggy and moody because she didn't get enough sleep, trying to read as much as she can.

It happened again. She heard a voice that isn't someone she recognizes. Another voice. Another voice she didn't know.

'Go to school, they said. It will be fun, they said.'

Lauren chuckled at the voice. It sounded so annoyed and Lauren figured the voice belonged to someone who just transferred there. Or someone who was home-schooled before that was forced to attend a regular school. Or just a kid who doesn't really like school. She wouldn't know.

Or that's what she thought.

The voice seemed louder and she realized there is a boy awkwardly standing near the lockers. He's currently blocking Camila's locker, taking Camila's attention from her. Lauren just stood there, listening to the boy's inner ramblings.

'I should have just watched the last two episodes of Mr. Robot instead of coming here. Or should have just fixed the wirings of my network at home. It's too messy.'
