Asher's POV chapter 17

Asher's P.O.V.

Currently I was making my way towards my A.P. English class, my mood heightening and a smile setting itself on my face as I remembered last nights phone call to Sam.

"Hello. Sam? Hi it's Asher. Listen, I need a bit if a favour..."

"Sure man. What's up?"

"Well," I said, situating myself comfortably on my bed." You know that A.P. English class that you have tomorrow? Second period?"

"Yeah. How do you even know that Asher? I'm pretty sure that you're not on my student list." As he said this I heard him get up followed by the sound of some ruffling of paper. I assumed he had gone to his desk or something to check for his student listings.

"Oh, I know. Don't bother looking Sam my name won't be there. I just called up Mr. Samuels and asked him to be transferred into your class. He assured me he would be issuing you with a new student list tomorrow morning." I informed him.

"Very well then Ash. Thank you for letting me know. Is that the reason that you called?"

"Actually I did have something else to ask of you. You see, I met my mate today and she's gonna be in your class. I didn't really exactly know how to introduce myself to her without coming off too strong and I thought your class would be a pretty good way for that to happen." I explained to him. Feeling slightly embarrassed that I had to go to this extent.

"Oh I see. Is she human?"

"Yeah. How did you guess?"

"No one else is really worth going to the extent that you're going to Ash. Plus Mary's a human too. I did the exact same thing that you did and I even transferred into her classes just to get a bit of her attention." He told me whilst chuckling to himself.

"Haha dude I tried. She only takes A.P. classes though. She's definitely a whole lot more intelligent than I am." I told him, chuckling myself.

"Oh. You must be mates with the new girl. Vanessa James right? I was going over her transcripts earlier when I got my updated student list. She's quiet the student. I don't know a whole lot about how the United Kingdom schooling works but all I saw was As and A*s (pronounced A stars). I'm really looking forward to working with her."

Pride filled me as he spoke of her intelligence. I was lucky to have such a smart mate whose knowledge would serve useful in life and as a Luna.

"That's actually sort of the thing that I wanted to talk with you about. I know that your class is assessed somewhat on partner work and I was wondering if you could do me a solid and sort of assign us as partners?" I asked him, slight hope dripping in my voice.

"Sure Ash, I can do that for you. If you want I can do you one even better and assign seats. I'll let you and your mate have first picks of seats so you can sit right next to her."

"Thanks man. I really appreciate it. But anyways I'll let you go. I bet you have teacher stuff to do." I told him chuckling.

"Haha. It's not a problem at all, I'm happy to do it. And yeah, I do have 'teacher stuff' to do so I'll see you tomorrow in class alright pal?"
