Asher's P.O.V.

I was literally smiling like a fool my entire walk/jog to my honours history class.

"What's up with the goofy grin?" Tyler asked me, already sitting down at his desk. Sliding into the seat next to him we both fist bumped.

"No reason, Ty." I told him, still thinking back to the conversation that I'd had in the hallway with Vanessa.

"So, umm. Are you and Cameron like, really just friends? It just seems that you're really close and all. You get along really well so I could understand if you guys were together."

"Don't sweat it. Loads of people say that. We are really just friends. Well, best friends. Our parents are really good friends too. It would just be weird to go out with him. Like I said, I love him and all but only as a friend and a brother."

"So you're single then?"

"Yep! I'm a single Pringle ready to mingle."

"Well I'm glad."

And boy was I glad. My mate was single and unattached. And Cameron - who being another alpha was really my only other major competition - was eliminated from competition as he was her best friend.

"That grin of yours just went from goofy to shit eating. What are you thinking about?" Tyler asked, one of his eyebrows cocked up and a little smirk on his face. "Or more like who are you thinking about?"

I knew that he probably knew that I was thinking about Vanessa. He himself had done, experienced and felt all of the feelings and stages of the mate bond. I'm pretty sure, no. I'm one hundred and ten percent positive that this shit eating like grin had found it's way upon his facial features more than once.

"You know what and who I'm thinking about Tyler." I told him rolling my eyes. "And whilst on the topic if mates where's yours? It's slightly strange seeing you without yours at school. What lesson does Katie have now?"

"Oh, she decided to take A.P. Chemistry this year." He told me, a slight pout of annoyance on his face.

"Why? No offence or anything bro, but everyone knows Katie hates science. She can't do it for shit. I'm pretty sure all of the science teachers know that as well."

"Oh, I know."He told me, sighing in the process. "I tried to persuade her not to because I know that she's just gonna get stressed out. But she said that she's never taken an A.P. science before, and that if she wants to apply to college it would do her a favour."

"Fair enough I guess. I'm just glad that I'm not you and won't have to be there when that girls pulling her hair out trying to revise. I feel like this year might be her breakdown point." I told him, laughing at my unfortunate friends misfortune.

"Ugh, tell me about it! I love the girl but she gets so stressed out with exams. I thought it was bad last year when she started to cry whilst revising for her math test. Apparently she was absent when they'd learned about inequalities and that was her breaking point." He was even cringing at the memory which made me laugh.

"All I can say is look good to you this year, man." I told him, chuckling as I pulled out my notebook and just in time for the history teacher to walk through the door.

"Hey do you wanna come to mine after this is over?" Tyler asked, leaning on the wall behind him.
