Asher's P.O.V.

Two weeks later.

It was official. I was completely and utterly in love and infatuated with my mate. She was the most amazing person ever.

Over the past weeks we had gotten to know each other more over school hours and texting, and also somewhat working on our English project together.

However, another thing was also official.

Or at least slightly more noticeable.

I had, most likely, been friend-zoned.

Over the past week I had been standing there and watching her and good old Benjamin flirt. As their attraction to each other grew so did my jealously. As their smiles increased so did the amounts of times I would have to storm out of school grounds and shift. As their bond grew stronger so did my urge to growl and chop Benny boys head off and throw him to the dogs.

No pun intended.

Every single time Ben would finally detach himself from my mate, another desperate male would just come along and try to get her attention. Given at first it wasn't that bad, though as the week slowly progressed everybody had decided to somewhat take advantage of get friendly and bubbly personality. Everybody tried to befriend her, especially those hormonal teenage boys.

Like seriously! Could the Gods just not be on my side for once in my life?! I have about 99.9% of the straight male population thinking that she's beautiful, about 85% of the teenage male population with her posters taped up on to their walls, and an estimated three quarters of the world population that would soak in her attention at any given moment.

I mean, it was okay at first. I mean, the only competition that I had was Cameron, though he was elongated early on in the competition. Then Ben came along, sure, I could handle that. But then a guy named Tim came into the picture. I don't know when, where or how they had even met. Just one lunch time out of nowhere the dirty blonde just came over and swooped her up in a hug. It pissed me off but there wasn't much that I could do about. She wasn't mine.

Yet.

A Every minute that we were alone I would try to build our relationship and I knew for a fact that it was working. The bond. Our bond. The bond that connected us to one another was growing stronger each and every time that we were together. I knew because not only could I feel it, but also my wolf. He grew agitated as every day passed, his anxiousness becoming more apparent at the thought of losing the mate that he had waited tirelessly for. That I had waited tirelessly for.

That we had waited tirelessly for.

Though today, I was going to start and attempt to change that.

Today we were both going to this little diner and bakery shop a few roads away from the school, not in the centre of the town so that too many people are there at all hours of everyday, but not on the outskirts of the town so that no one rarely visits.

It was just a perfectly quaint little diner that I had pretty much gone to since forever.

Over the past two weeks I'd learned a little bit more about her. I knew she preferred chicken to beef, I knew she pretty much only drank water or squash (cordial), and I knew that she liked athletic guys. I knew her first boyfriend was a rugby player, and that she liked Hence my recent joining trial of the football team, and signing my name up for the soccer team. Cameron was without a doubt quarter back. He had been since the beginning of forever. So in the end I tried out for the more taxing and muscle required positions, so that i could, without any shame, show of my strength and muscles. I'd tried out for running back, defensive tackle and linebacker. Coach was gonna get back to us soon because homecoming was coming up.
