A slow song came on so I had to take advantage, I grabbed Leonard's hands and then threw my arms around his neck, "Not letting you get the pie out of the oven until you dance with me." He resisted, "But it might burn." He finally said, I gave him a look, silently telling him to shut up, he gave in after I gave him my famous puppy dog eyes and a pout no one could resist, he smiled and started to dance, very clumsily but after all neither of us knew how to dance.

We were swaying around, sloppily dancing in our own way, when we both seen something very shocking, my dad and my mom were dancing in the hall just like we were in the kitchen we stopped and just watched them, dancing like professionals, they were smiling and laughing, I looked over to see Leonard was smiling as he watched them.

My mom seen us watching about half way though the song and she waved at us making me smile just like she was, the song soon ended, my dad was smiling like he did back when they were married, "Crap, I hope the pie didn't burn!" Leonard screamed as he rushed back into the kitchen, my dad ran in close behind him.

My mom touched my shoulder, "You know he likes you right?" She whispered in my ear, "You know dad still loves you, right?" I retorted before she nudged me toward the kitchen, Leonard was putting the remaining food on the table while my dad pulled out the chair for my mom, I grabbed a chair, climbed up to turn the music down, Leonard was behind me thankfully when I almost lost my balance.

My hands reached for the freezer door, it started to open but before I could fall I felt Leonard's hand on my lower back and another on my arm steadying me as he helped me down from the chair, "Clumsy Canary." He whispered before heading to the table to pull my chair out for me.

Throughout dinner I watched my dad and mom exchange glances and smiles, I loved the thought that after so many years we actually were having a family dinner, although Laurel wasn't around to join us, but we were a family, no matter how many people we lost, Leonard lost his whole family, but he became a part of ours that day.

My dad was the first one to speak up about Leonard's cooking, "How did you learn to cook like this?" His mouth was full but he was enjoying his steak, "My dad tought me the basics, I've been watching you cook a bit too." He smirked, "Well it's wonderful." My mom complimented after finishing off her fried potatoes.

We were all making small talk throughout dinner, "Sara brought me lunch earlier so I decided I'd make dinner tonight." Leonard said to my dad when he asked what made him want to make dinner, my mom and dad exchanged looks, I didn't know what that look could've meant but I didn't like it.
