Author's Note : Sorry!! This chapter is a little longer. I am trying to pick up the pace, a little, and get to the interesting parts of this story, as well. I want to thank all two of you who are currently reading this. Heh. I just kind of threw it together last night. I appreciate any and all feed back and will happily accept any ideas or suggestions.

Thank you!

Jake's POV :

This girl was an angel. The way she held herself... You could tell she's been through so much. Fought so many battles, but won them all. She looked untrusting, but eager to try new things.

"Your house is lovely..." I tried to make small talk. Her being so much more gorgeous in person definitely did not help.

"Thank you. It's nothing special. But it's what all I've got." She laughed and looked at the floor. I think she was nervous. My botched attempt at small talk only seemed to make things worse.

"It's nice. You live here alone?" We got to the door. I realized that could be a creepy question. But I already asked.

"I, yeah. I do. It's cool though. It makes it easier to write, though. Plus I can walk around without pants on." She looked like she regret saying that last part. I thought it was cute how she blushed, though.

Her house was nice on the inside, as well. It was sort of empty, though. She had her music equipment, some dishes in the sink, but not much else. It was almost like she wasn't attatched to this place - or anything, for that matter.

"What did you want to talk about? With the video?" She tried to move the conversation forward. Maybe I should've let Andy do this. He's more natural with conversations and smooth with things like these.

"Well, I found your video on youtube the other night. And it really hit me. You delivered such emotion and such pain and suffering with grace. I showed it to the rest of my group, and we looked at other stuff you wrote. We want you to come to a studio and see if we can't get you a band and see what happens." I really hoped she would say yes. She had such an amazing voice and such great talent...

"And who is your group?" She asked, seeming genuinely confused.

I laughed, at first, when I realized she truly didn't recognize me. Part of me wanted to be offended, because I thought that more people knew who I was. But, the rest of me felt nearly refreshed. I was so used to people wanting to get near me to get a place in my spotlight. But she didn't even know who I was. I realized I had paused a bit too long between her asking and me not answering... "My group. Yes. Black Veiled Brides."

"Ohhhh. I've heard of them. Of you. You guys..." She looked down, maybe embarrassed by her rambling. "I have some of your music on my computer." Gwen looked off into a different room, just as empty as this one. It had a table with a laptop on it and a chair.

"Yeah. We liked your music a lot."

Gwen's POV :

Holy shit. I was mentally kicking myself. I can't believe I didn't recognize him. I should've known when he introduced himself as Jake. Granted, he isn't wearing his war paint, and it was sunny, and I was confused...

But this was him. Jake Pitts. From one of my favorite bands. God, I'm such an idiot. I tried very hard to play it off. I wasn't a crazy fan girl or anything, and I don't idolize people... But he was just... I don't know. The awkwardness in the air from the both of us was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. I didn't enjoy talking to people more than I had to, so I wasn't prepared for this at all...

"You guys.. You like my stuff? That's so crazy... I just throw it together." I trailed off, a little. I really don't even try that hard when I write. It just happens. I never thought anyone else would like them this much. He just smiled and nodded. "And you guys want me to go to a studio. You want to put a band together for me?..."

"Yes. We think it could go very well. Hell. Andy woke up in the middle of the night and stayed up just to listen to your music. That's a big deal. He's like... The king of sleep." Jake smirked, loking into my eyes with such a welcoming gaze. I haven't been talked to like this in a very long time. As an equal....

I was so used to being looked down on. I mean, yes, he was taller than me and quite literally looking down on me, but you know what I mean. "This is a joke, right? This can't be real..." How in the hell did they just decide 'oh this girl on youtube. We should find her and make her.'

"No... Why would you think that?" He suddenly looked concerned. "I mean. I see that this is totally random, for you. Some creepy guy just shows up and makes you an offer...." He laughed, a little nervous now.

I should probably give him an answer before he changes his mind. "Okay. I'll do it. I can't make any promises. I'm really not that good.."

"Really?" He asked, wide eyed. I nodded up at him. "That's awesome! So, the next thing is, we need to get started as soon as possible. The guys and I are only in town for a few days, to sort of kick start this. But, we have another tour we have to get ready for. It's a lot of practicing, and we need our band room for that. So, that means that this week, we'll really need to put our best foot forwards and pund this out as quickly as we can."

He seemed so excited, now. It was like I told a kid he could buy all of the candy he wanted. It was cute. He was cute. I mean, more than cute, but this was adorable. Shut up Gwen. Why are you even thinking like that. You just met this dude. He's a rockstar. Thinking like this is pointless. He's got his pick of women, why would he pick you.

"So we only have a few days... Shit. I have work most of the week." I almost had forgotten that I have a pathetic excuse for a life outside of this conversation.

"Oh..." He thought hard for a moment. "That might be an issue. Especially if this takes off, which I swear that it will. Because we have plans for you after you record. Surprise plans. But it will take you away from your job... a lot..." He ran a hand through his thick black hair.

And then, looking up into his warm brown eyes, an idea hit me. A perfect idea. "I'll quit!" I think I sounded a little too excited, because he looked a little shocked.

"Are.. Are you sure? So soon? I couldn't ask you to do that...." Jake studdied the floor boards f my home. My stupid empty home. I couldn't care less about this place or my life...

"Yes. I seriously hate my job." I beamed. "I work tech for a big company. And, let me tell you, the corporate life is so not for me. I have to hide a lot about myself. I have to look relatively normal. I'm not that person. This is a blessing. Honestly." I tried to match the look he was giving me. I could tell he was excited.

He left me with a card. It was simple. It just had his name and a phone number underneath.

And with that, I started gathering what I would need for tomorrow.

Jake's POV :

I can't believe she said yes.
