Gwen's POV :
The sun warmed my face. I must have forgot to close my curtain before I fell asleep last night.
Honestly, I didn't remember fallling asleep. Last night was a blur. I sat up, rubbing my eyes as I tried to recall what happened. As the night slowly played out in my mind, I couldn't help but smile. I remembered playing an awesome show and the feeling of adrenaline it gave me. I remembered talking to Jake. And then, kissing Jake. I smiled at the thought. I stretched and went to jump out of my bunk. That's when I saw the note taped to the inside of my door curtain. How did I sleep through that?
Good morning, Angel. We're In Dallas. Meet me at Perry's at noon. It's important.
The note made me feel all those warm, fuzzy feelings inside. I thought those things only existed in the books I read... I assumed the note was from Jake. I couldn't see anyone else leaving it. I mean, I hoped it was from him.
I climbed out of my bunk, finally. Walking to the bathroom, I checked my phone for the time. It was 10 am. I had time to get ready still, with time to spare. After googling the steakhouse I was supposed to meet 'whoever' at, I realized I should try to dress a little nicer. I picked out a plain black dress, black tights, and the boots I wore every day. I threw my hair up into a nice (ish) but, and threw on my make up. I was bervous. I noticed that nobody else was on the bus.
That's when it hit me.
How the hell was I supposed to get there.
I knew we had cars and what not. But, if everyone was gone, there wasn't a car left for me.
I checked the address, again. It wasn't too far away, but definitely too far for me to walk. I would have to call a cab..
That's something I've never done.
I was terrified.
A half hour past. My cab picked me up and brought me to my destination.
"Thanks, man." I payed the cabbie, leaving a generous tip.
I walked into the restaurant. I realized how poorly prepared I was. I had no idea who I was actually meeting, if there was a reservation, or if I was supposed to wait inside or outside. I was a nervous wreck...
I calmed myself and walked into the restaurant.
"Hello." The hostess greeted me kindly as I wakled through the door. "Do you have a reservation?"
She stared at me, waiting for an answer. "I.. I think so. I was supposed to meet someone here for noon, but that's all I know." I stratched my head, anxiously looking at the floor.
"Ahh, yes. I think I know. The Pitts Party?" She asked me this in all seriousness.
I snorted at the name, but I nodded.
"Right this way." She motioned for me to follow her. She led me to a private dining room near the back of the restaurant. The table had a large bouquet of wild flowers in the center. The room was itself was beautiful; Red walls, dark details, and pictures of people I didn't know. I doubted the hostess knew them, either. I was so distracted by the room, I didn't even notice the man behind the flowers.
"Angel." Jake stood, sending a smile my way.
This was all so courteous, so far. Not what I would expect from a rockstar. The thought made me giggle. And he called me angel... How sweet.
"You look beautiful... " He spoke softly, coming around the table to grab my chair for me. He moved his chair closer to mine, and joined me at the table. "I'm sorry if this is all too much. I just wanted it to be special for you."
"What did you want to be special?" I didn't mean to insult his efforts. I just wasn't expecting any of this.
"I just... Last night. There was something there. At least, I thought so. I wanted to talk about it. About what I'm feeling. I. You know I'm bad with words." He stammered on. "I don't want to scare you away."
I watched him trip over his words. I didn't want him to feel bad or get the wrong idea, but it was cute. "I think there was." I smiled back at him. As bad as he was with words, I was ten times worse. "So... What do you need to talk about? Why this special lunch?"
He studied my face for a moment, placing a hand on mine. "I want you to be mine." A smile spread back across his perfect lips.
"I... I don't know what to say. What are you asking?" I was shocked, even though I should have seen it coming. I wasn't expecting anyone to want me again.
"I want you. In every way. You're an amazing woman, and you have made my life so much better... " He looked at our hands sitting there, so gently.
"Yes." I didn't need to say anything else. I was scared, but what did I have to lose?
He didn't say anything back. Jake just stared deeply into my eyes, seemingly surprised by my answer. Suddemly, he snapped out of it and drew me in for a kiss. His free hand moved to the small of my back, pulling me closer to him. I bit his lip as things grew more passionate.
Just as soon as things started, they were interrupted. Someone cleared their throat behind us. "Are we ready to order?"
Jake and I pulled away from eachother. I was blushing like crazy.
"Actually, I am so sorry." Jake checked his watch. "We need to go. We're going to be late."
There was no way I could sit through a meal after that. We hurried out of there and back to the bus. We ran inside, making sure it was still empty. Then, Jake gently pushed me up against the wall. I felt his lips press against mine, again. There was no feeling that could compare to this.
"Oh, Gwen..." He breathed into my ear. "They'll be back, soon..."
I sighed. I didn't want this to end. But I knew we had to pull ourselves back together.
The rest of that night was a blur. Between the high I got from Jake's touch and the electricity of the crowd, it was hard to focus on just one moment.
I met up with Jake after I showered. He was sitting in his bed, reading.
"Hey, Jake?" I poked my head in , behind his curtain.
"Angel." He smiled at me.
"Uh... Is it bad if I asked to sleep with you, tonight?" I stared at his hands. I didn't want him to say no.
"Of course!" He reached over and pulled me in, covering me in blankets and held me close. I fell asleep almost instantly.
