Gwen's POV :

A few months had passed, and we were packing up the tour bus. This had all happened so fast, I hardly had time to focus on one single part of it. The guys from Black Veiled Brides were all so nice and welcoming. Especially Jake... We had grown a close over these past few months. Not in a weird way. I don't think he liked me anymore than a friend. Besides, no one could love me.

The bunking situation for buses was a little strange, though. My band's managerm Jesse, had messed up our bus. So, we didn't have enoung bunks. It meant one person from our group had to stay on the Brides' bus. I offered to go, since my band members were all already friends. I didn't want to split them up. I was friends with them too, now. I just wasn't quite as close. To them. I still would hang out with them as much as I could and we would write, during the day. But I would spend my nights with the brides.

"Dude. How could you possibly have messed this up?" I walked out to throw my bag onto the bus. I saw CC yelling at Jesse. "It's seriously the easiest thing! I could've ordered buses and gotten it right. You know that if you mess this tour up, you're done, right? You're the reason we were stuck at that fucking hotel, last time. I really tried. I vouched for you. Fuck up after fuck up. This is your last shot." He huffed and walked away.

Jesse scurried off after him, apologizing profusely.

Jake stepped off the bus and smiled at me. "Hey! Want to see your bunk??"

I nodded excitedly. I hadn't seen the inside of the bus yet. It was huge. The front had a drivers seat and a combination living room and kitchen. It was amazing how spacious everything was. Then, there was a hallway with two bathrooms, one on each side. Each had a shower, a toilet, and a sink with a vanity and lights. Then, we walked to the bunks. There were 6. Two on each side, and two in the back. I know that each bus had two drivers, so we would be moving through the days and through the nights! It was crazy. The bunks each had curtains. Jake opened mine. There was a window to the outside and a curtain. I had a storage compartment at the end by my foot, a cup holder and small inlet by my head. It was the perfect spot to put my laptop. The bunks were spacious cubbies. I climbed in, putting my belongings in the surprisingly large storage compartment. Jake told me that his bunk was right below mine, and to bother him at any time.

"I'll let you get settled in. But, make sure you come find me soon. I have a surprise for you!!" He smiled deviously and walked away. I set up my laptop in the little cubby by the head part of the bed and stuck my water bottle in the cup holder. I spread out on the bed, just imagining what my life was about to become. The band had already gathered a following, and released our album. Jake's band had supported us and helped promote my band, 'Psyched.'

The name said everything I was feeling.

I sat there for a few minutes, lost in though, when I remembered. I had to go find Jake.

I jumped out of my bunk and ran outside into the parking lot. It really wasn't hard to find him, because he was waiting right outside. He was sitting on a huge, thin case with a bow on it. "No..." I whispered excitedly.

Jake's POV :

I could tell she knew what her surprise was from her response. I got off the sturdy case and just smiled, motioning for her to open it. She knelt next to it, gently removing the big red bow. The way her face lit up as she opened the guitar case, you'd think there was a spot light inside.

"No. NO fucking way. You got it??" Her voice was small and gentle as she caressed the sea green electric guitar. "You got it.. For me?..."

She couldn't believe it.

"Of course I did! I thought you deserved a new guitar to make new memories with. This is your first tour, so why not make it special?"

She jumped up and hugged me. "Thank you so much. I don't even know what to say!" She squeeled with delight.

"You don't have to say anything. Really. Your face says it all." I poked her nose and she began to turn the most lovely shade of crimson. She was really cute when she was embarassed.

Honestly, I don't know why I got her this gift. It wasn't like she couldn't afford it now, with all of her records sales sky rocketing. She was getting bigger that she realised. And I was glad I could be there to see it. She was amazing, musically. And she deserved this. I don't think she thinks she does, though. I'm determined to change that.

"Hey, guys. This is touching and all, but we need to go. I will not be responsible for being late." Jesse seemed annoyed, so I didn't argue. I just grabbed the case while Gwen admired the guitar, and got on the bus. Driving was boring. And I was ready to get settled in for the mind numbingly long drive. All I could think about was Gwen, though. I really don't know why. I just feel drawn towards her. And I can't help but think about the soft curve of her face, or the way her hair falls down, cascading past her shoulders. How her eyes always seem so full of life, yet so sad at the same time. She is so full of mystery... I am dying to learn more about this woman we've found.
