Jake's POV
"JAKE!" Ashley burst into the hotel room we had to share. CC was hot on his heels. "Jake. My god. So good. So glad we found you. We thought we'd never see you again." he stammered.
"I see you're back from a night of drinking." I looked them up and down. They wreaked of liquor.
"What else are we supposed to do? We're stuck in this fucking city until they figure out our tickets.." CC dramatically collapsed into the bed. He had a point. Whoever booked out tickets home from the last show royally fucked up. We were stuck miles and miles from home. I rolled my eyes and went back to what I was doing before they so rudely burst in. Scrolling through youtube. I liked watching people who didn't quite know what they were doing play music on the internet. Sometimes, there would be a person or two who wasn't too bad. But, 99% of the time, the people sucked.
I was scrolling through, laughing, hoping that someone whould show these people what they were missing, someday. And that's when it happened. A video came up with this girl. The song was soft, at first. She started singing the sweetest melody. Yes, it was gorgeous, but I could feel the pain behind it. She poured her heart out for anyone to see. I could tell she was holding back tears, but it never once affected her voice. I had to see more...
I clicked the link to her page. She had many other videos, there. Most of them were a lot heavier than the video I first saw. I have to show this to the guys, I thought. How could I keep this to myself?? "Hey... You guys?" I looked over to the bed where CC and Ashley had been drunkenly playing some board game they dug out of a suit case. "Guys..." I poked Ashley in the face. "Out cold..."
I still needed to show this to someone... I walked to the room Andy and Jinxx shared. "Andy?..."
"Who is it? Just a sec..." A very groggy Andy opened the door. "What's up?"
"Why is everyone asleep so early?" No one is ever asleep this early. It's only midnight. "Nevermind. I need to show you this."
Andy stepped back and out of my way. I walked in and sat on the bed.
"Ughhhhh. Who is here??" Jinxx rolled over and looked at us. "Dude. Why."
"Shut up, and listen to this." I pulled out my phone and started playing the first video. Her voice and pain hit me just as hard as it did the first time I watched it.
"Damn dude... That was heavy. Beautiful, though. Who is this?" Andy grabbed the phone to investigate further.
"Some chick off of the internet. She has other stuff, too. Heavier stuff. It's all good." I stared intently at the phone, now resting in Andy's hand. Jinxx had gotten up and was watching over our shoulders, now.
"This is actually not bad. Different from what you usually watch." He laughed. "We... We should talk to her."
Andy and I looked up, slightly shocked by this idea. The girl was amazing. Gorgeous, musically talented, and had an amazing voice. She seemed almost intimidating, but also inviting. The thought of meeting her made my stomach twist into knots. "Let's do it." I found myself saying. It made sense, though. She deserves a shot at whatever we can give her.
We spent the rest of the night watching her videos and trying to find her. I ended up on her Facebook page, somehow. She was so dedicated to her music. There didn't seem to be anything else she posted about.
"How do we contact her without this being super weird?" Jinxx suddenlt piped up. It'd been a while since any of us had spoken. We were so interested in what this girl had to offer.
"One of us should talk to her when we get home." Andy suggested.
"If we get home..." We had only been stuck for one night, but after being on tour for so long, all I wanted was to be home. And, now, I have something to be excitetd about. "I want to do it"
The other guys looked at me, a little surprised. I usually wasn't into the whole people thing. "We'll talk about it later, man." Andy stretched and layed back into his bed.
I decided it was time for me to go back to my own room. I layed in my bed, listening to this girl's music. I didn't even notice that I drifted off.
