Chapter 18:
I loved running. I relished the feeling of the wind on my face. Running made me feel free, even though I wasn't. I ran against the wind, rain, and sleet, trying my hardest to find the cave I once kept shelter at.
I felt the energy start to drain out of me, making it difficult to walk. I finally found the cave, sliding down to the ground. I brought my sore, tired legs up to my chest and watched to snow swirl. What confused me was that this storm was different. I didn't have that feeling that I had when the last storm happened, and the clouds were black when I was the cause.
I didn't understand.
I wanted to go back to Xavier, my wolf begged me, but I couldn't. I didn't want to hurt him or his pack. He needed to run his pack the way he used to. I was just in his way and stressing him out. I remembered how it was when Jace was around. I was actually happy, but now that he's gone I don't know what being happy feels like.
I wanted him to be here, but I know he's better off dead. He won't get hurt anymore. The wind howled and whined furiously and I broke down. I soon cried myself to sleep, pain eating away at my heart.
~~~Unknown POV~~~
I woke up in a dark cellar, the floor made of dirt. I made a move to get up, but I groaned at the agonizing pain throughout my body. I saw my wrists were also in silver cuffs chained to the stone wall. I looked around at my surroundings. Where the hell was I?
I saw a metal door and grit my teeth. What the hell was going on? I remember being at a fight and then I got hit and everything went black. I pulled at the chains, the silver burning my wrists. I growled viciously. I could barely feel my wolf. The silver was blocking him. I saw a small opening in the wall that showed outside and saw that there was a furious storm going on.
I looked around and saw the walls icing over, sharp icicles hanging off the ceiling and walls. I jerked at the chains again, desperate to get free. I heard a loud clang and saw a dark figure walking towards me. He raised his hand, touching an icicle. "So, you're the one who scarred my best fighter." The man muttered, his voice echoing off the walls. I glared daggers at him. "Who are you? Where am I?!" I roared. He laughed sadistically. "I'm the Alpha of the Rising Sun pack, and you're our special guest." I picked through my memory.
The Rising Sun pack...where have I heard that before? My face suddenly drained of color. I was in the hands of the head council. "Oh, so you figured it out?" He asked, amused. I looked up at him, growling deeply. "Where's my sister?" I asked. I needed to know where she was. The Alpha shrugged his shoulders. "She got away. We left out a corpse that looked exactly like you to make her believe you got killed." I felt the silver chains freeze when I clenched my fists.
"How long have I been here?" I saw a needle injected in my arm, silver flowing through the tube from a machine. No wonder I couldn't feel my wolf and I hurt so bad.
I growled loudly, snapping my head up to the Alpha. "Do you really think in scared of you? Silver is flowing through your blood, you can't shift or even feel your wolf." I growled, the icicles growing sharper and longer. The wind howled furiously outside. The Alpha just laughed. "You can try to break free, but it's a useless attempt. I have my men surrounding the whole area." I snarled, standing up, pulling on the chains. I got in the Alphas face, my teeth clenched tightly and a loud growl rumbled in my chest.
"When I get out of these shackles, you'll regret the day you were born!" I threatened, my voice dark and sinister. He just smiled, walking over to the machine. He moved a knob up and my entire body felt like it was on fire. I yelled in pain, falling to the floor. "I'll see you soon," he taunted, slamming the metal door shut.
