Chapter 19:
"Good question, I don't know." Jace answered and Xavier sighed. "Its been about ten months since your supposed death. How do you not remember ten months of your life?" Jace shrugged. "Look, I'm as clueless as you are. All I remember is being in that fight, getting hit, and then everything, up until today, is not in here." He said, pointing to his head. Xavier looked at him, searching his face.
"What do you remember from today? Did you see anybody? Get any names? I need something to go by."
"I remember waking up in a basement. I was cuffed in silver cuffs that were attached to the wall by silver chains. There was only a small window near the ceiling. Somebody walked in and told me that they were the Alpha for the Rising Sun pack." He paused for a second to catch his breath. "They told me that me fighting was a useless attempt 'cause I had liquid silver being injected into my blood. I saw the tube in my arm and he wasn't lying, there was liquid silver in my blood.
I tried to scare him, but it was useless. He turned the silver up a notch and I thought I was going to die, but I managed to break the chains. I broke out of there as fast as I could and his men followed me." He finished. I saw his burned wrists and palms, his skin pale and almost translucent looking.
I sat up. "You need to go see Alex. He'll flush the silver out of your blood." I said and he nodded, leaving the room. Xavier turned me around on his lap so I was straddling him. He leaned his forehead against mine. "Your brother is alive, Jezebelle. He can help you with your powers, I promise you won't hurt anybody. Don't leave me again, you could've gotten hurt." He said and kissed me. He pulled away and buried his face in the crook of my neck.
We just sat there for a few minutes. Jace was alive. He never died. He's been kept in a basement for ten months. I thought I lost him, but I was wrong. The Rising Sun pack was my next target. They needed to be taken out, the whole pack. If some stragglers want to join Xavier's pack, they'd have to show their loyalty before I give the final okay for the ceremony. "What're you thinking?" Xavier asked, looking up at me. "How I'm going to wipe out the Rising Sun pack." I said honestly. He smiled and it sent chills down my spine.
"We could always torture them until they die..." He said causally and I laughed. "I like that better." I said. He started kissing down my neck. I tilted my head to give him more access, earning a growl of approval. He kissed back up to my lips, kissing me passionately. I instantly melted into him. I ran my fingers through his soft, dark hair. I hooked my fingers together on the back of his neck, pulling him closer.
His tongue traced my bottom lip, but I denied him. He growled, pulling me closer to him. He tried again, but I still denied him. He growled louder than last time. I could tell I was testing his control. I ran my hands over his chest and abs, slipping them underneath his shirt. I traced his rock hard abs, feeling every muscle clench underneath my fingers. He gave my ass a squeeze and I gasped. He took advantage and plunged his tongue into my mouth.
I moaned at the taste of him. Our tongues fought for dominance and, like always, he won. We broke apart, panting. He kissed along my jawline and down my neck and over my collarbone. His hands slid down my sides to my hips. I felt his canines scrape over his mark and I moaned. "You're so fucking beautiful, Jezebelle." He growled. I ran my hands over his broad shoulders, trying to soothe out his tensed muscles.
"Baby, relax, please." I whimpered and he growled, his fingers slightly digging into my hips. He brought his hand down to the bottom of my cloak, lifting it over my head. I was only in black lacy bra and underwear. He growled deeply. "Perfect," he purred. The door slammed open, ruining the moment. Brent stood there, his clothes torn and cuts and gashes all over him. He was filthy with dirt and mud. He spun around and Xavier shielded my almost bare body.
