Mitch’s POV

When I looked at Scott, sadness filled me. I slowly walked over to him.

“Scott? Are you-“

Scott cut me off and said, “Do you hate me, Mitch?”

Those words hit me hard. Why would I hate him?

“Mitch! Do you hate me?” Scott repeated while looking up at me.

“I do not hate you. I told you this.” I finally replied.

“No, you didn’t.”

“Yes I di-“ I cut myself off remembering my dream. “No I didn’t. I told you in my dream.”

Didn’t I tell him about the dream?

“Do you remember the dream?” I ask.

“Umm…Maybe. Refresh my memory again.”

Once again I explained my dream to Scott and he was filled with sadness.

“Now I remember.” Scott said looking back down at the ground.

“I will ALWAYS love you, Scotty.” I said.

Scott’s POV

How can Mitch love me? I’m so messed up right now. It might not go away. What if I can never be myself again? What if Mitch leaves me because of it? What if. What if. All these ‘what if’ questions made my brain hurt.

“Can we go home? I have a headache.” I ask.

“Yes, of course we can. Let’s go.” Mitch replied.

Mitch held out his hand to help me up and I gladly took his gesture.

Once we got to the car, Mitch offered to drive and I let him because I don’t want us to get into a wreck if I had something bad happen.

“Do you want to go to the drug store and get some painkillers?” Mitch asked as we drove away from the park.

“And some sleeping medicine too.” I added.

“Okay. Do you want me to drop you off at home?”

“No. It would be longer till I get some medicine in me.”

“Okay.”
Mitch’s POV

Poor Scott. He is hurting and I don’t like it.

We left the park and headed to the drug store.

“Do you want to sit in the car?”

He nodded as his response. I grabbed his hand and kissed it slightly.

“Be right back. I’ll only take a minute.” I said before getting out of the car.

I head inside and went straight to the medicine in the drug store. I head to the pharmacy counter to see if Scott still had some refills from when he was stabbed by that little…I stopped my thoughts there. I don’t curse not even in my mind.

“Hi! May I help you?” a cute boy asked.

“Yes. I was wondering if there is still a refill on some medicine.” I said not noticing he was checking me out.

“Name?” he asked.

“Scott Hoying.” I replied.

“Can I see your ID?”

I take out my wallet and showed him my ID card.

“This isn’t your medicine.”

“No, it’s my friend’s.”

“Oh…okay. That’s nice thing of you to do.” He said.

“Yeah, does he have refills on some sleeping medicine?” I asked becoming impatient.

“Yes. I’ll go get it and then I’m going to need you to sign something.”

“Okay. Please hurry.” I say as he walks away.
