Mitch’s POV
It’s been three years since Scott got out of the hospital for the last time. It’s also time for our five-year anniversary on Saturday, which is five days away. I didn’t know what to get Scott so I called Kirstie.
“Hey Mitch!” she said all happy so she must of known why I am calling
“Can you help..” she cut me off and screamed, “Yes!” into the phone before I could finish
“Okay, come over and we can grab something to eat then go to the mall.”
“Yay! Okay, I’ll be over in twenty.” She said and quickly hung up
Kirstie’s POV
I’m sitting at Avi’s house watching a movie with Avi, Kevin, and Scott. I get a phone call from Mitch.
I got up quickly and answered the phone. I thought of reasons why Mitch was calling then it came to me. Of course, he wanted help to find Scott a gift for their anniversary!
I quickly accepted before he could finish and told him I would be there in twenty.
Once I return to the room with the guys were in, they looked at me like I was crazy.
“I got to go in a few because I have to help my mom,” I paused I felt like I was going to cry but I didn’t, “to help my mom with something.” I lied
Scott’s POV
Kirstie had to go soon and we didn’t know why. She said she had to help her mom but I didn’t believe her.
“Kirst?”
“Yeah Scott?” she replied while grabbing her bag
“Can we talk for a minute?” I ask her while pointing to the kitchen
“Of course Scott. What’s up?”
She seemed a little tense.
“Why did you lie about helping your mom?”
Kirstie’s POV
Scott wanted to talk in the kitchen privately, which made me tense up
“Why did you lie about helping your mom?” Scott asked
Oh yeah, I forgot Scott knows I don’t have my parents anymore.
“Because I didn’t want anyone to know.”
“Know what? Are you going shopping?”
Scott is asking a lot of questions maybe a little suspicious.
“Yes, it’s an emergency.”
“Oh well, can I come because I need to get this for Mitch.” Scott shows me this expensive golden bracelet picture on his phone
“I can get it for you. You, Kevin, and Avi are having fun and you hate missing out when fun things are happening.”
“You’re right I do hate missing out but it’s for Mitch so I can make an exception.”
Scott is going to make me late. I need to leave soon.
“I know but we can save gas by just me going plus I might be able to get a discount for you.”
“Fine, here is my credit card. Use it only for the bracelet.” I nodded and left
Mitch’s POV
Kirstie is taking forever. Where is this girl? I decided to call her and ask her what’s holding her up.
“Hey Mitch. Sorry Scott wanted me to make him and the guys mac-and-cheese. I’ll be there in five.”
