Mitch’s POV
I woke up still laying with Scott. I got up slowly trying not to wake him. I head down to the cafeteria to grab two coffees. When I got there I saw Kirstie on the far side of the cafeteria. I wave at her and she waved back.
“Hey Kirst. Did you sleep good?” I asked while walking towards her
She moved over and made room for me in the booth.
“Yes, but not at first.” She said quietly
“Same. Did they really take everyone you loved away?” I pause and looked at her face. Her face grew dark and nodded her head.
Kirstie’s POV
After about an hour of watching Scott and Mitch asleep, I got up and came down to the cafeteria. I keep thinking of reasons why they are after Mitch. About three hours later Mitch came down and we talked.
He soon asked me if those things really took everyone I love away. I nodded. I missed my parents a lot. I have a new family though. Scott and Mitch are like my older brothers and I love them dearly.
After a while of complete silence between us I said, “They are not going to take Scott from you. I don’t want you to go through anything I did.”
Mitch smiled and gave me a hug.
“Thanks Kirstie. You mean so much to me. I love you.”
“I love you too, Mitchie.”
Scott’s POV
I wake up to find Mitch and Kirstie gone. I got scared at first but soon relaxed after hearing laughter coming down the hall.
“Oh Scott, you’re up.” Mitch said handing me coffee
“Thanks. Why didn’t you wake me, I would’ve wanted to go somewhere.”
“You needed some sleep. We didn’t want to bother you.” Kirstie said
“Oh thanks but I think I would’ve been fine.”
There was a long silence in the room other than the sounds of the machines I was hooked to.
“Scott?” Mitch sounded worried but serious which scared me a bit.
“Yes Mitch. What do you need?”
He looked over at Kirstie then back at me and said, “Are you going to stay with me even with those things that run through my head every once and a while?”
‘Why would Mitch ask this?’ I thought to myself
“Mitch, of course I am. Why would you think I would leave?” I replied while looking into his beautiful brown eyes
Mitch’s POV
“Because I am going crazy and be screaming at nothing.” I said softly
Scott grabbed my hand and continued looking me in the eyes
“I don’t care. As long as I am with you nothing is going to ruin this relationship. I am always going to be with you not even death can pull me away.” Scott kissed my hand and heard crying. It wasn’t Scott so I looked behind me and saw Kirstie crying.
“Kirst, you okay?” I ask
“Yeah, you guys just look so cute together! I love you guys!”
We all get close and have a big hug. I didn’t want to let go. I was with my best friends and they meant so much to me.
