Chapter 6: Mitch's Big Day with Big Surprises

*Scott’s POV*

It’s been two years since Mitch was diagnosed and he is staying strong even stronger than me. It was almost his birthday so it needs to be celebrated. I call Kirstie and added Kevin and Avi to make a group call. 

"Okay, everyone here?" I ask trying not to let Mitch hear me

"Yes." they said in unison

I told them my plan on how I want Mitch's party to go. They also gave me their ideas too. I incorporated them into the idea and gave them a list of what they each should get.

I start to hear Mitch get up from his nap while I was still on the phone. I try to get off the phone like I was talking about a new song and I hung up the phone.

*Mitch's POV*

I get up from a little nap and I hear Scott talking on the phone. I exit my room and went into the kitchen. I heard Scott hang up and walk up behind me. 

"Hey Mitch. Did you have a good nap?" Scott said while wrapping his hands around my waist and puts his head on my shoulder. We started to sway from side to side.

"I did. It was a nice nap especially the dream." I said slowly turning my head to face him as we continue to sway

"Will you tell me about it?" Scott asked while slowly putting his lips onto mine.

"Maybe if you do something for me." I replied while leaning my forehead against his. 

"I will do anything for you." I said confidently while smiling

I led him to my room and lay on the bed.

*Scott's POV*

Mitch is so adorable! I bet he is tired again since we are in his room but it could be something else.

"Will you lay down with me?" Mitch asked with a sleepy look on his face

"Sure. Do you want me to stay until you fall asleep or until you wake up?" I smile while jumping onto the bed

"Either one but I would like to wake up with you here." Mitch snuggled up close to me and I sang him a little lullaby. He fell asleep with a smile and I fell asleep too.

My phone all of a sudden starts ringing which woke me up. I quickly turn it off so I wouldn't wake Mitch but it was too late. Mitch got up and rubbed his eyes because of the brightness of the room.

*Mitch's POV*

Scott starts to move which arouses me. I know he didn't mean to.

"Scott. I'm sad. Can we do something fun?"

Scott's face just stared at me. It's been at least two and a half years since I said I was sad. Scott looked sad because he was bad at hiding his emotions.

"M-Mitch why are you sad? A-are you having those dreams again?" I could hear the nervousness in his voice

"I am just... just not having fun sleeping all the time." Scott's face started to loosen up and told me to sleep and we would go and have some fun tomorrow.

                                            - Next Day -

*Scott's POV*

I get up slowly trying not to wake up Mitch. I call Kirstie, Kevin, and Avi and told them to come by around 4:30 to set up for the party. I go back to Mitch's room and I went to wake him up.

"Hey babe. It's time for fun!" I said while slowly shaking him.

*Mitch's POV*

Scott awaked me around 10 pm. I began to smile because we are going to hangout all day. Around 12 pm we headed to the coffee shop then we went to the movies at 2:15.

At 5 we head back home and Scott got the door for me and carried me to the front door of the apartment. I noticed the lights were off. We enter and then we head to the kitchen. All of a sudden all of my friends came out and screamed 'surprise'!
