They were in guest room of a pack which they had arrived at just before supper. Usually, packs would have no issues with basically being a Bed and Breakfast for Weres travelling through, as it allowed them to look up on them, and know where those passing through were, although they often had them arriving just before dinner. It gave a trade of favours for the larger packs to redeem later, or for the smaller ones, a source of revenue and other packs they can ask for help from. It was often a way to trade news between packs, one that dated to before there was any sort long distance communication possible except for howling.
Wild Valley hadn't had any formal agreement with them, although there were in the Inter-Pack Treaty, they were a small pack of under a hundred, and for them, this was a cash transaction. They had a separate entrance, and their meals were being brought to the suite, so they had minimal interaction with the pack. It had irked Tala till Tommy had told her they were just spending the night. Also, they didn't have to provide credentials and present themselves to the Alpha. They had received a short, generic note to the effect and hoping they had a safe trip in the morning.
The team had requested a single suite when they booked it, since they wanted to keep everyone together. Even Rachel and Jake had agreed with that, and understood the reasoning; partly was that they didn't have much to deal with the packs, and to ease their wolves, they would keep together.
They were relaxing together, chatting softly, or working on the computer, or reading as they had a want to do, especially since they didn't have access to any other part of the pack.
Tala finished her electronic report to that point, and looked around, "Well, we need to discuss the next visit." She stated.
The rest of the team put down their work, "Arriving at Sentinel Star?" Jake asked. It was the only thing for this part of the trip of why they would need to have a meeting.
Tala nodded, "Yes; we will be arriving about lunch time." She confirmed. "Up until we were notified about the changes in leadership, and the request to open communication, while they were not considered an enemy, the relationship with them was downright frosty."
Graham nodded, "From what I know, it started when our pack was formed, and Tyler was totally against it, and Tom—the former alpha of Sentinel Star—supported him." He added for those not born to the pack.
"And Tyler broke Guesting Laws—" Riley started
"—And had been put down during a Challenge." Logan finished, both sounding very proud about it.
"Another, was that Tom looked down on our leadership, as they are under a century old." Louise added.
Tommy nodded, "All of those. Tyler was a second cousin to Tom, and while he gave up his active disagreement, he didn't stop being obstinate and blocking the changes as much as he could." Even he had seen some of the work to deal with him as he grew up at Tala's side.
Talking to the newest three, "Don't bring it up to Zane, as he is still fairly sensitive about it, as it involved him." Tala advised, "Talk to us first, or to Katya, or even the Alphas." All three nodded.
"Now, arrival." She started, bringing them back to the next day, "We will switch drivers just before we arrive, if I'm not already driving." She pulled out a formal looking folder with their pack's emblem embossed in the front, "As I have the papers for our access, and being the senior member."
Those that were in her vehicle nodded before she continued, "Once we arrive at the packhouse, I assume we will be led to a guest suite, as we have been the last while. We plan for up to about a week there."
