Wolf Tech 6: The Pups

Chapter 10

Since the drive to town took the normal amount of time, Riley and Logan talked to their mates about the mental bonds and what happened with them, in general terms. They talked about the stuff they had discussed with them that they couldn't talk about when outside of the pack; the mental bonds being the first one. When they arrived, they parked in one of the spots assigned to the pack.

Once they had parked Logan climbed out and helped Rachel out and wrapped an arm around her. Even though they hadn't formally accepted the mating, he wasn't going to take a chance. He was making it clear she was his and the other wolves could go hang. He had seen her mostly nude and she was damn good looking and he wasn't going to take a chance. Even if other wolves might take no for an answer, his wolf would take exception to someone asking her to spend time with them. It didn't help that she looked to be a young adult and not much younger than he was.

Riley was doing much the same though she was sure the twins wouldn't realize why they were acting the way they were. When they walked in they greeted the Enforcer at the door, as he just waved them in, before they headed to the younger section. After sitting down one of the pack came over and gave both Riley and Logan a good hug, "Glad you are doing okay. What can I get you?" He asked.

Riley returned the hug, "Food. It is lunchtime and we are starving. Um, mystery meat on a stick, potato salad, stuffed spuds, and a baked potato." She felt her brother wanting that and it sounded really good. She looked at the other two, "Order what you would like. We've been here a number of times so we know what we want. The bill is on us." Since the place was run by the pack, they would take it directly off the money the pack paid them, so they didn't need to work about billing. As usual, one of the senior members in the team took the bill.

The server was not a wolf, but one of the young adults who lived in town. The team knew them, and the servers knew a fair amount about the wolves, and knew they would be safe.

Adam and Brook followed as Zane showed off his team's area. "Zane's area is a fair bit larger, as he has a fair number that are in his team, as being second, he does manage a fair amount of the day to day tasks for the pack."

Joan felt her jaw drop, as she looked around the main common room. There was a hall to a second room, and she shook her head, as this room was rich enough for her. There was a nice stone tile floor, wood stencils on the walls, and a fair amount of pictures.

"Kat and I have one of the largest teams in the pack. Not all are enforcers but they are still part of our team. Their mates as well for those who have mated. It also includes all of the pups from our team. There are a number and even though they are stinkers we love them a great deal." He scooped up one pup who had toddled in as his mother chased him.

Joan was a bit overwhelmed with what was happening. It seemed that they went much more for comforts in the living places.

Adam saw the glazed look, "Just think of an Alpha as the monarchs, so Zane is our Prime Minister, and deals with the day to day enforcing of our work, and his Team as their support staff. So, we have nice looking places."

"It helps I won the lottery as well. That was when I was informed Izzy was pregnant with Riley and Logan. I did it as a joke to tease Adam but got lucky. Most of it was invested and has done well over the years. I decided to occasionally spend the money to upgrade our team pod. Our team have been very loyal and the ones from my original pack incredibly helpful when I was turned. It's my way to show them how much I appreciate them." The rooms had been upgraded not long ago and it showed. Zane had to roll his eyes, "My son picked up some tickets and did as well as I did. It seems to run in the family." Logan had won about the same amount as he had when they had been born.
