Logan and his team approached one of the backcountry campgrounds. They were little more than a meadow, with heavy steel bear proof bins and a notice board. As they were doing that one of the other wolves paused and lifted his nose and scented the air. When he did the other two did as well. Logan wasn't sure what the wolf was trying to scent, *Brant, what do you sense or smell? Not catching anything of interest.* He was scenting for rogues and lone wolves. He hadn't expected to scent an injured human but then again, he had a great deal to learn. It was one of the reasons he and Riley had been assigned to the long patrol.

*Heard something and maybe smell the pain of an injury for a human.* He cocked his head and he and his wolf grumbled, *Can't localize it since it was just a momentary thing. I'd suggest we spread out and to a search pattern to try and identify what or who has been hurt. It might be something silly or maybe something bad.*

Logan didn't even think before he started passing orders, *Brant, move to the left thirty meters, Sig, thirty meters to the right. I'll be in the middle.* When Logan sniffed again he couldn't help but smile since he could smell Serina and her current kitten. He had met them and the kitten was close to being old enough to be on his own.

The team spread out and carefully searched. When Logan found the woman, it was almost pure accident. The wind wasn't in the right direction and when he stepped into the clearing he was only a few meters away from her. Joan screamed even as she instinctively moved to be between her children and what she thought was a bear, he sighed since they, humans, tended to do that. Before he changed he thumped his head against a tree. Human's were so silly and they should be able to recognize a were from their lessor cousins. He wasn't quite as large as his father but he had a bit of growing left to do. They also had packs on, and while they were designed to match their fur colours, at close range they still would be easy to see.

The children screamed as well even as he started to change. If they had a problem with nudity, they could deal with it. Once he was in his human form he quickly pulled out some shorts and a shirt, "Can you stop the screaming, please? It's making my ears ache." He rubbed one ear with a palm before he spoke again, "I'm Beta Logan Donovan from the Wild Valley pack. Can we help you ma'am?" Even as he was talking to her he was pulling out some supplies. It was obvious they weren't prepared for what they were doing.

Joan stopped screaming first, and Rachel last. She was just calming down enough to move out of being between her children and him.

It wasn't much after that Duncan came blundering down the hill at a way too fast of pace. He nearly faceplanting into a tree as he came up to them, "What's wrong?" he replied breathlessly.

"The werewolf scared me when he stepped out of the trees suddenly. I thought it was a bear wanting to eat us!" Joan replied. She turned to them, "Sorry, but you scared us, one moment there was just bushes and then you were there. I'm Joan..." she said, introducing her family. "Rachel hurt her ankle. Can you help?"

Logan sighed and considered hitting his head on a tree again. He had no idea who they were but whoever they were, they weren't prepared based on the clothing they had on, "In just a moment or two the balance of my team will arrive. Please don't scream since it does hurt our ears." Since they were used to dealing with humans he pulled two little stuffed wolf's out of a pocket on his pack, "Would you two like some little stuffed wolves? We make these to hand out to pups we, I mean children, come across." One was howling as he was sitting and the other was laying down looking very comfortable. He also pulled out water bottles, and added some electrolytes, as he could see they needed it.

The teens at first were a bit offended, but smiled and accepted the gifts. Rachel smiled and thanked him. She took the little howling wolf. Jake quickly followed and smiled.
