Wolf Tech 6: The Pups

Chapter 26

The first person to be called in was David to provide his testimony. When he walked into the room he found Zane was sitting to the side and simply watching. With him, were several Alphas. He wasn't sure how he could tell, but they were Alphas. When he was directed to a chair he sat down and took a glass of water with a thanks. He waited for the questioning to start. Anita was standing at a podium, "David describe what happened the night you were turned."

David made a slight face since he really didn't like exercising even though he was, "I wasn't sleeping well and decided to go for a run. I prefer to run either late night or early morning since it's quiet and I don't need to worry about much traffic. I was jogging when I was attacked. I don't remember much of the attack other than glowing eyes. When I finally woke I was here in medical." He had to take a shuddering breath, "Leon was in the room with me and... Zane was outside with Katya and a woman I soon discovered was a mind healer who goes by Beth."

"Where were you when you were attacked? Did you hear anything before that?" Anita asked.

"My memories of that time are vague. I had my earbuds in and was listening to my running music when I was attacked. About all I remember was a heavy weight on my back and a burning in my shoulder. After that is a blank. As far as where I was, there is a forested section I like to run next to. I might not look like it but it is one of the reasons we purchased the house we live in now. It is backed by the forest and the sounds of nature are something I've grown to appreciate." He hoped he would still be able to enjoy nature. Here on the property he felt safe but out there? He didn't know any more.

Anita nodded, "The earbuds probably covered the few sounds the Rogue would have done, and after the bite, that is normal for you to have blacked out. For the record, you had never been in contact with anyone about being changed before?"

"No I haven't. I know Zane was rogue changed since that came out when they did. Other than that, to the best of my knowledge I haven't spent much time with any sort of supernatural. Might have some working for one of our companies but I normally don't deal with employees unless there is an issue." He ran the company and deal with employees was for the HR department. At most he might be asked to approve a new hire.

"You are on the record as an unwilling turn, and as such your call for his death is on the records." Anita commented. "You are dismissed for now. If you wish you may stay to listen." She motioned to an empty bench that had been reserved for them. She nodded at the Enforcer at the door, to bring in the first responders, so that they could get the records of what they found when they arrived where David had been bitten. They were doing all the events in chronological order, so all the Alphas, Seconds, Elders, and any of packs that cared to come could hear it all.

David stood and debated for a minute before deciding to go and sit down. Zane was there so he might as well be. Leon would be in later thankfully. He could really use a good hug and kiss from his mate. The brief questioning had brought back some bad memories and he needed the comfort. When he sat down and Zane wrapped an arm around him David tensed before relaxing against him. He wasn't sure why but there was something very comforting about him.

The questioning for the officer and paramedics didn't take long since they hadn't seen the attack. They gave statements on what they'd seen and done but that was about the best they could do. Once done they were shown out of the room. Anita called for the next witness. In this case it was Leon to give his side.

When Leon sat down in the chair, Anita asked the first question, "Could you tell us what happened the night David was bitten?" she started.

"I knew David had decided to go for a run. He does that sometimes when he can't sleep. Earlier there had been a broadcast which had Zane in it and it'd irritated David. Once he'd left the living room I'd gone back to sleep. The next thing I remember was someone banging on our door. When I finally answered it, I found Damien there and he gave me the news. I'll be honest, with our history I thought Zane had done something. Might not say nice things about me or us but it was my first thought." He glanced over at Zane before looking at the Elder.
