Cheetahscar's Rage

•Chapter 3•

"Here is the fresh moss, Sneezecloud, if you need anything else i'll be in the medicine den."
     Cheetahkit sighed placing the fresh bushy collection of moss next to Sneezecloud.

     "Thank you youngin, that's all I need for now, I was having the best dream! so Im honna go back to sleep and finish it."
     Sneezecloud stretched into a yawn his bones making erie cracking sounds in response, His age wearing down his body.

    "Cheetahkit! I think I have a tick on the back of my neck, can you get it for me?"
     Duskfur purred curled up in the corner of the den. Cheetahkit nodded exhausted from a morning of helping Rainshine collect herbs and helping her treat Larkflight's greencough.
    Cheetahkit trudged over to Duskfur and parted the fur on her neck, a tick was burrowed in her pelt. Cheetahkit bit the tick and popped it.
    "Thanks Cheetahkit, I think we are satisfied."
       Duskfur grinned. Cheetahkit only nodded, all she could think about was curling up in her nest and sleep off her wariness.
     Cheetahkit turned and trudged out of the elders den, ignoring Rainshine who asked if she was feeling alright from the medicine den. Cheetahkits eyes sagged as she struggled to keep them open.
       Cheetahkit reached the nursery padding past snoozing Moondust, Thrushwing moved out of the den after Adderpaw's, Applepaw's and Rufflepaw's apprentice ceremony.
Pebblekit stirred next to Moondust as Cheetahkit slumped into her nest, sleep beginning to swallow Cheetahkit's vision until a paw slammed into her sore body making her yowl in pain.
"How was your first experience in the punishment?"
Pebblekit chirped

"i'm tired can I talk about it when I wake up?"
Cheetahkit groaned.
Pebblekit frowned and curled up next to Cheetahkit,
"I'll wait until you wake up"
Pebblekits words were the last Cheetahkit heard before drifting off into sleep.
Cheetahkit woke up in a forest, sleep no longer dragging at her paws, Cheetahkit felt energy surge through her veins. The forest was unfamiliar to Cheetahkit, it didn't even look like the dark forest. Cheetahkit couldn't hold back her energy, she raced through the trees enjoying her freedom as bird chirps filled her ears and Sunlight poured through the trees. Cheetahkit raced on going so fast that she didn't have time to skid to a stop before reaching an approaching cliff.
Cheetahkit dug her claws into the ground desperately hoping not to fall down the cliff, but it was too late she plunged into the empty blackness as she fell off the cliff.
Cheetahkit yowled as she fell.
she squeezed her eyes shut waiting for the impact, but when she opened them she was on the ground she didn't feel anything as she hit the ground. This forest was familiar, the darkforest,
"Ravenshadow? are you here?"
Cheetahkit called out.

"of course, little one."
his booming voice from behind Cheetahkit made her jump.
"we have a lot of training to do today."
he merrowed, Cheetahkit felt weariness seep back into her as he mentioned training.
"ok"
Cheetahkit replied slowly.

Cheetahkits eyes snapped open as a paw jabbed her in the side, the training with Ravenshadow made her exhausted, but Cheetahkit felt it wearing off as Rainshine prodded her awake.

"you slept for a while! its almost noon."
Rainshine chirped, Pebblekit was in the clearing chewing on a plump mouse. Cheetahkit longed to join her but Rainshine cut off her thoughts.
"Tigerleap and Troutnose feel nauseous I need to collect some more Yarrow, I'm bringing Falconwhisker with us so he can protect us."
Rainshine pointed out,

"ok, where can we go to find yarrow?"
Cheetahkit asked
"it's not far, its near the river."
Cheetahkit followed Rainshine out of the den. Pebblekit glanced up from her half eaten mouse and bounded up to Cheetahkit.

"I got tired of waiting for you to wake up, so I just started eating a mouse, it's delicious try some!"
Pebblekit squealed.

"no time for food, you can eat when you get back ok?"
Rainshine meowed trotting towards the exit of camp.
Cheetahkit flashed Pebblekit a sorry glance before following Rainshine out of camp,
Falconwhisker appeared behind Cheetahkit following them out of camp.

"Here, Cheetahkit pick some of this yarrow, try not to gag at it we need it not to have vomit on it."
Rainshine purred sarcastically as Cheetahkit ripped up a clump of yarrow. Falconwhisker peered at them from his place near a tree.
"need my help?"
Falconwhisker asked
"no thanks, I have all the help I need."
Rainshine chirped praising Cheetahkit warmly.
Cheetahkit felt pride bubble in her chest as she forced herself not to gag on the disgusting taste of the yarrow.
Rainshine, Cheetahkit and Falconwhisker made their way back to camp. It was already night by the time they gave Tigerleap and Troutnose the yarrow. Apparently they ate crow-food and needed to throw it up.
Cheetahkit gave the elders a thrush, sparrow and a squrriel. Exhausted Cheetahkit decided to eat fresh kill for the first time. She snatched a trout from the pile and started gulping it down, Never had Cheetahkit been so exhausted and hungry. The trout was the most delicious thing she ever tasted.
"did you like it?"
Pebblekit's voice startled Cheetahkit as she took the last few bites of her meal.
"yeah it was amazing!"
Cheetahkit purred.

"Glad you liked it, now lets get to bed Moondust is waiting."
pebblekit chirped.

as Cheetahkit settled down into her nest she felt comfortable next to the warm pelts of her mother and sister. Cheetahkit let sleep swallow her vision once again. But Right before Cheetahkit drifted off into sleep, she swore she smelled smoke.
