Cheetahscar's Rage

•Chapter 6•

Get up, try again! you can't give up!
Cheetahkit huffed as she crumbled to the ground practicing a move. Cheetahkit felt her body painfully scrape the ground as she skidded across the dusty misty ground.

       "Try it again, stop being so clumsy!"
    Ravenshadows rude remark made Cheetahkit flinch.
Cheetahkit scrambled to her paws again and steadied her rickety paws. Cheetahkit inhaled deeply before raising herself up onto two back paws. She slashed an imaginary enemy and then skidded to the side, dodging a pretend cuff from the pretend enemy. Cheetahkit rolled under the enemy and quickly slashed the legs from under the pretend enemy. Cheetahkit imagined the opponent stumbling to the ground unbalanced from the blow and leaped into the air several fox lengths. Cheetahkit then landed squarely where the exposed and shocked enemy would be, then pinning the opponent to the ground. Cheetahkit scoffed in pride as she felt Ravenshadow acknowledging gaze graze over her back.

"Well done Cheetahkit, you are improving."
Ravenshadow warmly praised his eyes glistening with pride.
      Cheetahkit chirped in happiness at his acknowledgment.

    "Now what?"
         Cheetahkit asked.

    "Try it on me now."
Cheetahkit was shocked, she had never tried any moves on Ravenshadow before, but determination pushed doubt away. Cheetahkits tail lashed to and fro in courage.
       Ravenshadow circled Cheetahkit before unexpectedly lashing out with both front paws, claws unsheathed. Cheetahkit dodged the swipe rolling under Ravenshadow to his exposed stomach, before Cheetahkit could strike the exposed Stomach Ravenshadow leaped behind Cheetahkit. Striking a stinging blow to Cheetahkits flank. Cheetahkit winced at the pain of his claws tearing her flesh, but she rolled away from him and bounced to her paws. Cheetahkit darted fowards in a flash, and before Ravenshadow could react, Cheetahkit delivered a bloody blow to Ravenshadows side. Cheetahkit left her claws unsheathed since Ravenshadow did as well. Ravenshadow shook his head and leaped behind Cheetahkit swiping her flank several times before rolling away. Cheetahkit reacted fast though, leaping onto Ravenshadow as he attempted to roll away and pinned him to the ground. Cheetahkit quickly slashed Ravenshadows stomach several times causing him to yowl in pain.

     "Did I beat you?"
Cheetahkit excitedly merrows

     Ravenshadow shoves Cheetahkit off of him roughly before answering
      "yes, but you must get off me when you need to say something."
       Ravenshadow huffs licking a bloody paw.

     "You did well tonight Cheetahkit, i'm proud."
     Ravenshadow praises before Cheetahkits dream desolves.

Cheetahkit! I brought you a mouse wake up!
      Cheetahkits eyes blinked open and met the eyes of Oakblaze.

     "Thanks."
    Cheetahkit purred taking the mouse from Oakblazes jaws

    "We all hope you get better Cheetahkit!"
   Oakblaze purred before trotting away.

          Cheetahkit bit into the warm flesh of the mouse, it's delicious aroma and fresh taste swept over Cheetahkit. Cheetahkit was feeling better. Besides a few spots on Cheetahkits body that still felt scourched, Cheetahkit felt much stronger and less sore. Cheetahkits lungs were hardly even sore any more, and her throat wasn't sore at all anymore. Cheetahkit stood up, noticing a few scratches from training with Ravenshadow on her body. Cheetahkit padded fowards out of her make-shift nest. Cheetahkit padded into the middle of the make-shift camp where Quailfoot, Nightstorm, and Owlscreech were all sharing a huge bass fish.

"Cheetahkit! you are getting better!"
Nightstorm purred as she noticed Cheetahkit.

"I feel much better!"
Cheetahkit purred her eyes gleaming in pride.

     "That's good to hear, what you went through with the fire was so much for a young kit like you."
       Quailfoot sorrowfully remarked.

    "Well i'm a strong kit!"
    Cheetahkit boasted, receiving humorous chuckles from the three she-cats.

     "you sure are dear"
   Owlscreech blinked snickering before taking a bite from the bass.

     "Now, go find Moondust and tell her you feel better, i'm sure your mother will be happy to see how you have improved!"
      Nightstorm pointed out before returning to her meal.
        Cheetahkit nodded before scanning the makeshift camp to try and spot Moondust.

       Cheetahkit saw Sneezecloud, mintfur and Duskfur all snoozing together in a patch of sunlight. Cheetahkit spotted Flamefur and Mistystar quietly discussing something on a large log. Cheetahkit then saw Rainshine sorting out small amounts of half burned herbs that she supposedly fetched from the medicine den in Riverclan camp. Cheetahkit felt the need to help her since she was instructed by Mistystar to help Rainshine and the elders until she was an apprentice. Cheetahkit stalked over to Rainshine who acknowledged Cheetahkits arrival with a flick of her tail.

"Im glad to see you improved Cheetahkit-"
Rainshine was cut off by Mistystar who was standing of top of a tree branch.

"Let all cats who are old enough to swim gather before me for a clan meeting."
Mistystar instructed.
The elders gathered first then Adderpaw, Applepaw, and Rufflepaw, then the rest of the clan. Cheetahkit curiously trotted over to the gathering, followed by Rainshine. Then lastly Moondust appeard out of the moss curtain and gathered before Mistystar as well.

"I know what happened with the fire is very tragic and it will take some time for us to return to out camp and rebuild it. But Riverclan is strong and we can accomplish anything together."
Mistystar meows, several cats agree with chirps of triumph.

"But something else had happened in the fire, a loss of two cats as many of you may already know."
the clan murmurs and gasps in fear.

"Sadly, Willowshine died today, from too much smoke inhalation. She will be remembered for being our medicine cat for so long and mentoring Rainshine to be the medicine cat she is today."
      some cats cry out in sadness, grief, and anguish as Rainshine drags the limp body of Willowshine into the clearing. Cheetahkit gasps in shock at the death of the medicine cat she hardly knew.

"We will grieve for her after the meeting, the second cat we lost during the fire is now in Shadowclan, alive thankfully, but she is now part of Shadowclan."
Riverclan ripples with gasps of shock and disbelief.

"Rainshine informed me that she has chosen to be where her dead father lived, and she chose to do so in the fire, we will miss her, but her decision cannot be stopped."

Cheetahkit felt the world spin around her in anguish and sadness.

Pebblekit, why did you have to leave?
