Cheetahscar's Rage

•Chapter 5•

    Cheetahkit! Cheetahkit wake up!

         Cheetahkit shot awake, Feeling a heavy soreness squeezing her lungs she struggled to breath without having a raspy scratchy breath of air, it ended in a heavy spout of coughing. Two figures loomed over Cheetahkit, but Cheetahkits eyes still stung and made it hard for her to focus. After a minute Cheetahkits eyes focused and distinguished the figures to be Moondust and Rainshine eyeing each other worryingly.
      "Cheetahkit, I told you to go with the clan, you could have died!"
     Moondust griped

     "You are very very lucky to be alive Cheetahkit."
       Rainshine finished after Moondust.

      "i'm s-sorry"
   Cheetahkit struggled to say ending in more body wracking coughing.
       Rainshines ears flattened in sorrow before she turned and mewed

     "Larkwing? can you get some honey for me on a stick?"
Rainshine requested as Larkwing appeared in the corner of Cheetahkits vision.

"Yes Rainshine"
Larkflight dipped her head respectfully before turning and disappearing through curtain of moss.
     Cheetahkit focused her eyes on the unfamiliar surroundings and Riverclan cats lying around the unfamiliar area snoozing, eating, and chatting. The elders were huddled together in a small patch of sunlight, Sneezecloud was coughing obviously from smoke inhalation.  Adderpaw, Rufflepaw, and Applepaw were training with their mentors on fighting tactics in the far corner of the unfamiliar land. Pebblekit was no where to be seen though.
       "Wh-where am I, Where is Peb-"
    Cheetahkit was cut off in another spout of painful hacking.
      Rainshine glanced back as if searching for something, Larkflight then reappeared through the moss curtain with a stick dripping in golden, thick, honey.
       Larkflight gave the stick to Rainshine and trotted off. 
      "Cheetahkit, eat this honey, it will sooth your throat."
       Rainshine ordered holding the honey above Cheetahkits head.
      Cheetahkit lapped up the honey, it slid down her throat soothingly, it ran over the scratchy spore areas of Cheetahkits throat. Cheetahkit lapped up all the honey thankful for the relief of the soreness. Though Cheetahkits throat still felt a little sore, it felt better than it did before.
     "t-thank you"
   Cheetahkit sighed.

     "we are in a makeshift camp by the way, I carried you put of the fire when you were unconscious, you are lucky to be alive, everyone was so worried about you."
     Rainshine picked up the conversation from before.
       Cheetahkit nodded, feeling thirsty. Rainshine must have noticed Cheetahkits thirst because she picked up a piece of moss dripping wet, and gave it to Cheetahkit to drink.
       Cheetahkit lapped it up thirstily sighing at the relief it brought.
             "w-where is Pebblekit?"
     Cheetahkit asked

         Moondust and Rainshine glanced at each other in guilt and sorrow before answering.

      "She is with Shadowclan now, she chose to be there because she wanted to be where her father died. You know about your father right, Moondusts old mate."
      Rainshine answered

    "yes I know about him."
  Cheetahkit replied

    "But I saw Pebblekit with you, in the fire, s-s-s-she was unconscious though, ho-how can she choose to leave Riverclan unconscious?"
      Cheetahkit coughed, for a moment Rainshines eyes flashed with panic before she swallowed and replied.

     "she fell unconscious after she made the choice, so a Shadowclan warrior decided to take her unconscious to Shadowclan."
    Rainshine finished exchanging a worried glance with Moondust.
         The story still didng make sense to Cheetahkit from what she saw, but she was too tired and upset about Pebblekit to question it.

   "o-oh"
  Cheetahkit sighed

    "I'm sorry, Cheetahkit, i'm here for you."
          Rainshine sighed licking Cheetahkits forehead strangely motherly like.

      "ok"
   Cheetahkit sighed feeling a weight of emptiness in her heart.

    "You can get some rest now dear, Rainshine and I will take care of you until you are better again, soon we will return to Riverclan and all will be better."
       Moondusts words echoed in Cheetahkits ears before Cheetahkit dozed off letting her mind drift off into a deep sleep.
