Cheetahscar's Rage

•Chapter 2•

"Cheetahkit, wake up!"
Drowsily, Cheetahkit lifted her head and blinked open her heavy eyelids.
Rainshine stood over Cheetahkit with some herbs clamped in her jaws.

"Cheetahkit, remember you have a duty until you become an apprentice!"
Rainshine whispers carefully trying not to disturb sleeping Moondust and Pebblekit.
Cheetahkit broke into a stretch followed by a yawn then looked up into Rainshine's odd two different colored eyes.

"I'm so tired though what is it?"
Cheetahkit groaned wearily, trying to keep her eyes open after the vigorous training with Ravenshadow last night.

     "I need you to help me collect some herbs."
Rainshine murmurs.

Cheetahkit nods sleepily and follows Rainshine outside the camp,
"where are we going?"
Cheetahkit asks shaking off her tiredness from the excitement of the forest.
"Shadowclan border, thats where burdock root is."
Cheetahkit bounced over a rock and batted a leaf enjoyjng the world outside of her camp.
Cheetahkit followed closely behind Rainshine as the treaded through the forest.
Cheetahkit stuck her nose in the air picking up a smell, it was a weird smell but it was strong.
"Rainshine! I smell something!"
Cheetahkit murrowed excitedly
"What is it?"
Rainshine opened her mouth to let the scent in. Then suddenly her fur stuck up and fear glazed her eyes.
"I knew I should have brought a warrior with me."
She hissed under her breath.

"What is it? do you smell it too?"
Cheetahkit whispered worried at what Rainshine was scared about.

"Cheetahkit get behind me!"
Rainshine ordered an edge to her voice.
Cheetahkit grew fearful and confused at what Rainshine was so scared about.

"It's ok it might be prey!"
Cheetah kit squeaked bouncing over to a bush where the scent was the strongest.

"it smells like a.."
Cheetahkit begain
"FOX!"
Rainshine yowled as an enormous dog looking red pelted creature leaped from the bushes and pinned Cheetahkit to the ground,

"Rainshine help!"
Cheetahkit squealed terrified for her life.
"Get off her!"
Rainshine screeched taking an enormous leap into the fox's side, Rainshine grabbed a hold of the foxes pelt and ripped a chunk of hair out of its long red coat of fur.
The fox yelped and bucked Rainshine off not loosening its grip even a little.
Cheetahkit squirmed and squealed, but the fox was stronger.
"Rainshine!"
Cheetahkit cried out desperately, but Rainshine was laying on the ground knocked out from the foxes blow.
The fox drew close to Cheetahkits neck snarling, its rotting breath rolled over Cheetahkits nose making her gag. Cheetahkit's heart pounded in her chest.
Just as Cheetahkit was about to give up hope, a voice whispered in her ear.
remember what we practiced little one.
Cheetahkit recognized the voice, it was Ravenshadow. Cheetahkit let out a low growl at the fox who was inches away from her neck.
Cheetahkit rolled around and loosened the foxes grip, then Cheetahkit bucked and leaped out of the foxes grip. Before the fox could react, Cheetahkit leaped behind it and slashed its back legs. The fox howled in pain and whiped around lunging for Cheetahkits throat right before Cheetahkit rolled under its muzzle.
Cheetahkit bounced to her feet again and slashed the foxes muzzle open. The confused fox shook its head violently and dashed away.
Cheetahkit hissed,
"You better not ever come back you mange-pelt!."
Cheetahkit whiped around and met eyes with a shocked Rainshine.

"Dear starclan."
She whispered so quietly that Cheetahkit hardly heard her.
"Rainshine! you're ok!"
Cheetahkit purred and rubbed against Rainshines side.
"You-you chased it away! y-you're a kit!"
Rainshine gasped confused and shocked.

"Yeah and?"
Cheetahkit turned her head sideways confused at what Rainshine was so shocked about, so what if im a kit? I can still fight!
Cheetahkit thought to herself.

"You're a very special kit Cheetahkit."
Rainshine murmured pride suddenly appearing in her eyes.

"I am?"
Cheetahkit excitedly chirped

"you are, now are you hurt?"

"no"

"ok then lets collect some burdock root!"
Rainshine meowed.
Rainshine and Cheetahkit reached the Shadowclan border just as dawn struck.

"Cheetahkit can you check for some burdock root over there? i'll check over here."
Rainshine asked pointing further down the border.
Cheetahkit nodded excitedly and bounded in the direction of where Rainshine was pointing.
Cheetahkit sniffed around and realized that she didn't know what burdock root looked or smelled like. Cheetahkit padded back in Rainshine's direction to ask what Burdock root looked and smelled like. Cheetahkit picked up a different smell, not a fox but an unknown cat.
"Rainshine?"
Cheetahkit called out, Cheetahkit got no response, so she raced through the bushes worriedly and burst through the other side, the sight was shocking.
Rainshine was with a shadowclan cat, he had spots like her! but redish fur.
Rainshine met eyes with Cheetahkit fear glazed in her eyes again.
"oh um, Get off our territory Foxwing!"
Rainshine looked around wildly as if looking for something before whirling around and yowling at the shadowclan warrior.
At first Foxwing looked confused and hurt but then something snapped in his eyes as he spotted Cheetahkit, Cheetahkit didn't recognize the emotion, but it looked like he was realizing something.
"Then stay off our border fish breath!"
He growled before turning and trotting away towards his clan.
"Come on Cheetahkit, lets go back to our clan."
Rainshine sighed sadness making her voice crack.
"but we didn't get any herbs!"
Cheetahkit pointed out.
"it's ok we can get some later."
Rainshine stared at her paws as she wearily choked out her sentence.
Rainshine trudged in the direction of Riverclan again where Cheetahkit followed closely behind.
who was that warrior? why does he look like me and why was Rainshine with him?
Cheetahkit wonders.
