Chapter Fourteen
"Shh baby, shh. We're almost there. Just a few more minutes and then you can hug your sister all you want." I cuddled the little boy in my arms as I followed Derek who held another of the kids. Daemon was beside me with the little girl, Kimberly, whose little brother I had again in my arms. She refused to have anyone else touch him, but me.
"Kee..." His little hand stretched out toward her. His three year old hand stretching to its limit to try and touch her. His head on my shoulder facing his sister.
Daemon walked over to me and placed his arm around my waist. The little boy touched his sister's hair. Her body relaxing into Daemon's chest as she continued to sleep.
I smiled. "He knew something was wrong."
Daemon nodded. "I think she was having a bad dream." His arm lifted and pet the boys little head from around my back. "Good boy." The little boy giggled though it sounded pained. "If you want, I can carry both of them."
I shook my head. "I'm good. We're almost home anyways."
Then I closed my eyes and smiled when I felt a flood of emotion. Not my emotions. My brother's emotions. He was excited and giddy as I know he just caught my scent. I also felt through our bond that he was racing toward us in wolf.
Seconds later, my brother burst through the trees and barked jumping up and down. It didn't matter than we were royals. It didn't matter that we were mated or older. It always felt better having each other near.
Daemon skillfully lifted the little boy from my arms and onto his chest across from the boy's sister. He smiled and nudged me toward my brother. "Go reunite with your twin." I smiled as I popped up and kissed his lips lightly gaining a giggle from the little boy.
Turning to my brother, I knelt down and he jumped up. His front paws going around my shoulders as my arms wrapped around his rib cage. My brother hugged me tight and whimpered a little in my ear.
My brother yelped when I pulled him up with me as I stood up. Then he was barking a laugh as I started walking with him in my arms. The guys were chuckling too as I, a female, was carrying a fully grown wolf, a male wolf like he was nothing. In fact, he didn't feel any heavier than the little boy had and my brother didn't seem to mind either. We were back together like when we were born.
I smiled as Bethany came through the trees smiling herself. She even giggled seeing my brother in my arms. "He's missed you badly."
"As I have him." I reached out a hand to her. "And you sis."
She smiled more as she came over to me and her mate. "We have a surprise for you too. Once we received word that you all were coming here, we rushed about wildly for the surprise. Well, mainly my mom and Macy, but still."
"What surprise?"
Shaking her head, she stroked my brother's head as his tail beat against the outside of my thigh. His wolven arms sliding more over my shoulders as he whimpered with delight that I was back. "You'll see once we get to the back yard." An excited and mischievous giggle slipped out as she grinned. Whatever was going on, she couldn't wait till I saw it by the way she was acting.
My feet stopped dead as we broke through the trees and saw what happened to the back yard. My eyes going wide seeing the gauzy sheers drifting in the breeze. Chairs set up all over the place except for a runner than ran down the lawn from the back porch toward us. An archway at the end with vines growing down the sides. Sheer ribbons were tied to the corners of the arch at the top.
My brother jumped out of my arms and shifted pulling Bethany into his arms. "Since we haven't had a chance yet, we thought 'why wait?' We don't need much and we already have someone here that can wed us."
