Chapter Six: Mochi
Alice came running to me. How she found me, I have no idea, but I do know that I do not want to see her right now. I turned and saw that Alice had a tear stained face and my eyes, that were glaring daggers at her, softened. She approached me, a sad smile on her face.
"Pastel, I am so sorry." She exclaimed as she tried to wrap me in a hug. I pushed her away and frowned at her.
"Why are you apologizing? It's not like me and him are dating..." I trailed off, voice cracking a bit, tears threatening to come out again. Alice started crying and laughed at the same time.
"Then why were you crying when you saw us?" She asked me, hesitantly sitting down next to me.
"I was jealous, but I don't know why yet." I answered truthfully. She, wiped her tears away, and smiled.
"You like him." She told me, blunt and serious. I looked at her, shocked at her words, but I couldn't deny them.
"I might and if I did, how am I supposed to know what it feels like to like someone? I've never had a crush or anything before." I mumbled. Alice smiled at me, eyes filled with kindness.
"You'll just know. Now want to hear what truly happened between me and him?" She asked. As badly as I wanted to know, I refused her. It was her and Elijah's business, not mine. She smiled at my answer then eyed my doughnut that was currently in my hand. She suddenly leaned over and took a big bite out of my doughnut. I blinked twice, processing what just happened.
"Y-you just took a bite of my doughnut." I said, still shocked.
"Yeah, and?" Alice mumbled, still chewing on the doughnut. I looked at her, evilly smirking, and I tackled her to the ground. I placed my hands on her sides and started tickling her. She burst out laughing, coughing a bit, and few moments later she pleaded me for forgiveness. I, being the kind soul, decided to stop and end her punishment.
"Well, now I learned to never steal food from you again." She chuckled. I nodded in agreement, huffing a bit. She laughed at how I responded and I smiled. I may have forgiven her easily but I am not one to hold grudges. I need to keep my friend anyways.

I groaned, exhausted at how long school took to end. I spotted Alice talking with Elijah and I mentally prepared myself before walking over to them. Elijah gulped once he saw me approaching and smiled nervously. I waved at him, smiling bright, which seemed to confuse the heck out of him.
"Is she going insane?" I heard him whisper to Alice. I chuckled at this and so did Alice.
"We made up." She explained. Elijah, who finally understood, broke into a smile.
"That didn't take as long as I thought it would." He said, rubbing the back of his head.
"What is that suppose to mean?" I asked, curious of what his answer might be.
"Well, girls are typically the one to hold grudges the longest-" Alice hit his shoulder and he winced. We crossed our eyes and glared at him playfully. Seeing that he upset us, he got on his knees and apologized. Alice and I burst out laughing. I smiled and thought how could I ever be mad at these two?
"Hey, do you guys want to come over and make mochi with me?" I suddenly asked them. Elijah nodded his head quickly and Alice frowned.
"I wish I could but Reid is taking me out." She explained. I frowned slightly but smiled.
"You two enjoy your date then!" I called out to her and she walked away. I turned towards Elijah, who seemed to be lost in his own thoughts.
"So, it's just you and me, huh?"

I think Elijah may have a few screws loose in the head of his. I mean, he ran into a pole on the way to the bakery. Instead of crying out in pain or laughing, he got up and ran into it again. I doubled over laughing at the scene, making passersby stare at us strangely. I grabbed his arm and pulled him away from the pole. Mental note to myself- Elijah and poles get along well.
"Is your mother here?" He asked me as we walked through the front door of the bakery. I shook my head.
"She is out with a friend of hers tonight." I answered him and he made an 'o' sound with his mouth. I placed my backpack on the nearby table and pulled my hair up into a ponytail. I then walked inside the kitchen and began pulling out ingredients, Elijah just watched me the whole time.
"Ready to start?" I asked him, holding out an apron. He nodded his head and took the apron from my hands. He had trouble tying the knot so I tied it for him. My hands brushing gently across the nape of his neck. I saw his ears get red and I raised my eyebrow but didn't question him about it.
I set Elijah to work by mixing in the ingredients for the dough while I got myself occupied with the ice cream. I saw Elijah playing with flour out of the corner of my eye and I giggled.
"Having fun?" I questioned him and he nodded excitedly. I laughed loudly and continued mixing in the chocolate ice cream. I saw him smirk and flour hit my back. I screamed a bit, shocked at his action. He smiled evilly and threw another handful of flour at me, hitting my neck this time. I laughed and grabbed a handful of cornstarch and threw it at him. His eyes went wide and before you know it, the kitchen was painted white with flour and cornstarch. Elijah lunged towards me, making me fall and land on the ground. We laughed and looked into each other's eyes. He was dangerously close to my face. For some reason, my eyes darted towards his lips. His eyes darkened and he moved closer to me. I fluttered my eyes shut and felt my face heat up. Then I felt bliss.
His lips were soft yet rough, tender but hard. The feeling of his lips against mine sent excitement running throughout my body, my heart fluttering. He pulled away, much to my dismay, and we stared into each other's eyes. Did we just kiss?
