Chapter Four: Pie

I'm now two weeks into the school and I already love it here. Everyone I have met so far is extremely nice! Alice and I have gotten really close as well, along with Elijah. I'm just having the time of my life to be honest.

"So class, that's all I have for today. Please finish your homework for Wednesday aka tomorrow. Goodbye!" Mr.Ains told us and left the class. Alice immediately moved over to me, our teacher had to separate us due to us talking so much, and she started talking about how her and Reid are going so well.

"I think he likes me too!" She exclaimed, a dreamy expression on her face. I smiled at how lovesick she is.

"Are you interested in anyone?" She asks me out of nowhere. I placed my pointer finger on my chin and pretended to think about it. I shook my head and Alice frowned.

"What?" I asked her, curious at why she is frowning.

"Elijah has got to work his ass off harder." She muttered. Elijah?

"What does Elijah have to do with this?" I questioned her. She gave me a shocked expression and rolled her eyes. She waved her hand at me and scooted back to her seat as our teacher was coming in.

Our teacher, Mr.Tellarose, began writing on the board. 'Pop Quiz' it read and I groaned aloud. The class, who heard me, laughed at my silliness but they didn't look happy as well. I forgot how bad school can be.

Alice ditched me for Reid but I didn't need her anymore. I already knew my way around the school..or so I thought. I was supposed to be heading to the front office yet I somehow ended up at the library. I heard sounds coming from the library so I peered in, wondering if I could get directions to the front office. My eyes widened at the sight in front of me. There was the two boys, whom I sort of met my first day, having a wild makeout session. I blushed at the sight and looked down. The two boys must've realized I was here and they stopped kissing. The blonde one looked down in embarrassment. The brown haired one just smirked at the cuteness of the other and looked at me.

"Sorry for letting you witness that. Do you need something?" he asked me. I kept looking down at the ground, my face heated up and red as a tomato.

"I was wondering where the front office is?" I asked him, with a quiet mouse voice.

"Oh, it's down the hall. You would've made it there if you kept walking." The man told me. I bowed my head as a thank you and quickly hurried out. I heard the two boys laugh as I left and I blushed even more. That was so embarrassing!

I arrived at the office. I was meeting my mother here as I forgot my keys at home. "You're lucky I was on my way to work!" She exclaimed but smiled nonetheless. I embraced her in a hug and gave her a 'thank you'. She then waved goodbye and walked out the school's front door.

I walked out of the front office and heard my name being called. I turned around and saw it was Elijah, who was waving at me. I walked up to him and tucked a loose piece of hair behind my ear. I smiled at him brightly and he returned the smile.

"Was that your mother just now?" He asked me and we started walking to the cafeteria.

"Yeah it was. She came here to give me my keys." I answered and Elijah nodded at this. We continued with our chatter, mostly me talking about Alice and Reid.

"Those two should just get together already." He said while chuckling. I laughed too while nodding my head.

"U-uhm, Pastel!" A voice called out to me. I turned around and came face to face with one of my classmates, Andrew.

"Oh, hey, Andrew! Do you need something?" I asked him with a smile on my face.

"Uhm, I like you and was wondering if you want to go out with me!" He exclaimed and felt my face heat up. I felt Elijah tense somewhat beside me.

"Sorry, may I ask what kind of like you mean?" I asked, letting my strawberry blonde hair cover half of my face, cheeks tinted pink.

"Romantically." he answered, his cheeks also flushed. I nodded at this, understanding his embarrassment to some sort.

"I'm sorry but I do not feel the same way but thank you for sharing your feeling with me." I told him, kindness dripping with from my tone of voice. Instead of weeping or being hurt, he just simply smiled at me.

"Thank you for rejecting me with such kindness." He said while bowing. He bid us farewell and left. I frowned at his retreating shadow. Elijah, who was quiet this whole time, finally piped up.

"Why are you frowning?" He asked me, staring at me slightly.

"I feel bad for hurting him." I answered honestly.

"But you don't like him right?" He asked, his voice slightly lower than before. I shook my head in response and I heard an outtake of breath from him. Suddenly, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him.

"Wah." I exclaimed in surprise as I felt my heartbeat go faster and my face flushed a dark red. He caressed my cheek with his thumb while staring deep into my eyes.

"E-elijah?" I said, stuttering a bit. He made a 'shh' sound with his mouth and I felt my eyes draw towards his lips. He must've noticed this as I saw his eyes go a tad bit darker. Then, he did something unexpected. He gently placed his surprisingly soft yet rough lips on my cheek. Then he licked his lips and walked off.

"You're sweet as pie!" He yelled and I collapsed to the floor, trying to figure out what had just happened.
