Chapter Seven: Crepes

We stared at each other deep in the eyes. His pupils were slightly dilated and cheeks were flushed. His mouth was slightly open so I felt his minty breath fan my face. I felt my face heat up after realizing what just happened. I turned my head to the side and I felt him get off of me.
"Sorry." He mumbled. I nodded at this and got up. I brushed my knees off and I heard the door close. I turned around in shock as I saw Elijah's departing figure. I frowned and tipped my head to the side. Why'd he leave? What happened to making mochi?
Luckily, my mother arrived five minutes later and she helped me finish the mochi. We had extra rice dough left over so we substituted that as dough for crepes. We added the chocolate ice cream and drizzled melted chocolate on top. I placed it neatly in the box and smiled.
"I'll give this to Elijah tomorrow." I announced and put the box in the freezer. Then I grabbed my bag from the nearby table and headed up to my room. I saw the bed and instantly collapsed on it. I fell asleep dreaming about my kiss with Elijah.

I got to school relatively early so I decided to pay a visit the cafeteria before class started. I walked in and saw Elijah and Alice talking in hushed voices. I approached them cautiously, deja vu striking me. Alice smiled when she saw me coming up. She pulled my arms and embraced me.
"What happened with you and Elijah yesterday?" She whispered in my ear not-so-quietly. I turned to Elijah with lightly blushed cheeks and he was also quite embarrassed.
"Nothing much." I answered her, avoiding telling her about the kiss for now.
"So how was your date?" Elijah asked out of nowhere, changing the subject. Alice turned to her with a bright, happy smile.
"It was excellent!" She exclaimed. She went on by explaining what they did. She went to an amusement park with him, kissed on the tip of a ferris wheel, and he took her to an extravagant dinner. I smiled at her happiness and I turned to Elijah, taking a quick peek at him. To my surprise, he was staring directly me. I blushed deeply and he turned away, realizing he had been caught. I raised my eyebrow as I thought 'Why'd he look at me?'.
I was pulled out of my thoughts as Alice started squealing like crazy. I turned to her and she just stared and was pointing her finger, her other hand covering her heart. I turned towards the direction where she was pointing and my eyes went wide. There was two guys making out very, uh, sexually. One was pressed against the wall while the other one was attacking his mouth. It was none other than Jason and Jackson.
They stopped briefly and made eye contact with me. They then walked over to me and Jason swung his arm over my shoulder.
"This is the second time we've run into you with our makeout session." Jackson, chuckling slightly.
"Well this time you guys were kissing out in public." I defended, not knowing why I felt the need to.
"True true." Jason said, agreeing with me. Jackson then turned towards me and held out his hand.
"I haven't formally introduced myself. I'm Jackson Gray." He said as I shook his hand. He then pointed to the male besides him, Jason.
"This is my boyfriend-" some gasps were heard throughout the room as he said the word 'boyfriend'. He rolled his eyes and continued on.
"Jason Alder." Jason didn't bother shaking my hand as he just ruffled my hair, messing up the bun I had in my hair. I pouted at this and Jason chuckled.
"I'm Pastel Poppins." I announced to them, introducing myself. They started laughing and said 'We know'. I blushed furiously as I just remembered they heard my name already. First day of school when I was at the office, they even laughed at my mother's name. They noticed my blushing self and Jason removed his arm from my shoulder. Then they waved to me and walked off. As soon as they were gone, I felt all eyes on me. Not knowing to do with all this attention, I gathered up my stuff and left the cafeteria. Why did something like this have to happen so early in the day?!

Alice meets me in the classroom and she wiggles her eyebrows at me, sitting down in the process.
"I know something happened between you-"
"We kissed." I cut her off. I looked at her reaction hesitantly and her eyes were wide. The tips of her mouth curved into a smile and she embraced me for the second time today. She then calmed down the slightest and sat down, begging me to give her the 'dirty deeds'-her words not mine. I went on by explaining exactly what happened with Elijah and I yesterday. When I finished, she was surprisingly quiet.
"Did he just up and leave like that?" She asked me for confirmation. I nodded and she frowned.
"How did that make you feel?" She questioned me, making my eyes go wide. Should I tell her?
"I felt confused at why he would leave and I.." I trailed off, averting my eyes. She pestered me and I continued.
"I felt sad that he left." I gave in and she squealed.
"You do know what this means?" She asked me excitedly and my eyes went wider than before with realization.
"I like Elijah."
