Chapter Ten: Sorbet
Elijah left an hour later and I missed his presence already. My mother, who just so happened to hear the whole thing- I swear she was spying on us, gushed to me and started smiling.
"You two are dating now, right?" She asked me cautiously. She managed to hear everything else but that? Honestly, this mom of mine.
"We are." I answered her, blushing a bit while smiling happily. She ran up to me and embraced me in a hug.
"If he breaks your heart again, I'm whooping his ass." She announced to me while squeezing the life out of me. I laughed and said,"Okay." She let me go and instructed me to finish wiping down tables. I sighed the slightest but did as I was told. I was smiling the whole time.

The weekend went by fast. Elijah even came over and worked for a bit. Mother was impressed by how well he got along with customers. She gave us sorbets to enjoy after the day was over. The next day was school time and when I arrived in the morning, Alice immediately rushed to me and almost tackled me to the ground. We got some weird stares from students passing by but we could care less. We were just happy to see each other.
"Where were you on Friday?" She questioned me as she hooked her arm with mine and led me to class.
"At home?" I answered her, some sarcasm in my voice. She gasped and shrieked loudly.
"Y-you just-" She fanned her face, not bothering to finish her sentence. I playfully rolled my eyes at her. Then I felt arms embrace me from behind. I recognized this touch instantly and leaned back into his chest.
"Hey." Elijah greeted us and Alice watched our actions curiously. It took her a few seconds to finally piece it together.
"You two are dating!" She exclaimed in realization. Elijah and I both chuckled at this and nodded. She started jumping up and down happily, yelling "I ship it" which got us more weird stares.
"She likes to make a scene, huh?" Elijah whispered in my ear, his breath sending shivers down my body. I nodded and he pulled me tighter against him. I relaxed against his chest, enjoying this new feeling of his embrace. The bell rung and I pouted. Elijah chuckled slightly and leaned over, placing his lips on my forehead softly. He let me go and waved me goodbye. I reached up and placed my hand on the spot he kissed me.
"That's all I get?" I voiced my own thoughts. Alice then slung her arm over my shoulder and smiled to herself.
"You two are such a cute couple." She said and we both went into the classroom. The final bell rung and class began.

It was already half way through the day and was now lunchtime. Currently I'm sitting with Elijah and we were discussing funny things that have happened at the bakery before. All of sudden, a person brushed against me rather harshly. I looked at him curiously."Slut." He said, coughing fakely. I made a puzzled expression at what he said. I ignored it and turned back to Elijah, who was watching me with a deep frown.
"Do you know what he meant when he called you that?" Elijah asked me cautiously and I shook my head, which made him frown even more. He then reached over the table and caressed my face with his thumb.
"Whore." A guy from across the room yelled. I turned and saw he was pointing at me, a cruel smile on his face. I frowned deeply at the word he used. I never heard the word before but I definitely did not like the sound of it.
A girl with long, pretty blonde hair walked up to me, tapping my shoulder slightly.
"Is it true that you sucked 1,000 dicks before?" She asked me bluntly and my eyes widened."Pardon?" I asked her with confusion. Why would she say something like that? She waved me off and walked to her original spot. Elijah suddenly stood up and grabbed my hand, dragging me out of the cafeteria. I heard boos being yelled and I frowned. What exactly was going on?
Elijah dragged me throughout the hallways but I was suddenly pulled backwards. I screamed at the sudden scare and Elijah turned around, his eyes widening in horror as I was pulled away from him. I was led into a nearby room and the door locked. Elijah was banging on the door but he suddenly stopped. Did he leave?
I was pushed roughly against the nearby wall with a tall man staring at me.
"I'm here to send a message and so I'm going to do that." He announced and raised his hand, his fist connecting with my jaw. I fell to the floor, clutching my jaw as I stared at the man in horror. He grabbed my collar roughly and pulled me up. He raised his fist once again and I prepared for another blow.
