Chapter Sixteen: Caramel
My mind had thoughts running through it as I found out my whole relationship was a lie. Tears painted my face but my eyes were empty. My heart was shattered once again.
"Alice made a plan to ruin you..she involved me for some reason and I couldn't turn her down. She wanted me to break your heart but I realized how good and pure of a person of you. I fell in love with you." He explained, choking on his words slightly. I saw that he was crying but I could care less about his guilt. He knew he broke me.
"Get out.." I muttered and I heard his phone drop to the floor.
"P-pastel, please don't." He stuttered but I could care less about his feelings at the moment.
"We're done, Elijah. Now get out of my house and my life." I sobbed and I heard him sob as well. He looked at me with heartbroken eyes and I looked back with a blank face. I pointed my hand to the door and he nodded sadly. He looked at me one more time before leaving.
As soon as he was gone, tears poured down my face harder than ever. I sobbed loudly and my mother rushed over to me, my cries must've woken her up. She embraced me as I cried, making her shirt wet with my staining shirt. I thought my heart was broken before but this is the worst pain I have ever experienced.

I went to school the next day. I needed to confront Alice about this as soon as possible. The only bad thing is that I'm scared of what exactly will happen. I'm also scared of running into Elijah. My heart and mind are still recovering from last night's events.
I arrived at school and received a ton of stares. I saw some people lean over and whisper in their friend's ear. I tsked, knowing that the rumors have gotten worse. Worst part is that I no longer have anyone to protect me. I was wrong.
"Pastel!" Mickey called out and I turned to her worried face. She grabbed my wrist gently and led me out of the cafeteria. We went inside the girl's bathroom and she embraced me tightly. Kenzie later came in and we had a hug fest.
"We heard about what happened with Elijah." Kenzie whispered and I looked at them with shock.
"H-how?" I stuttered.
"Alice." They both said and my eyebrows furrowed. I don't even want to know how Alice most likely changed up the story. My heart still hurts from the betrayal from her.
The bell rung, signaling school is now in session and we all sighed. We bid our farewells and I miserably went to my classroom. To my utter surprise, Alice wasn't present.

I somehow made it through half the day. It was now lunchtime and I decided to eat outside, not wanting to witness and feel all the stares the students would be giving me. I saw people approach me and I frowned when I didn't recognize them.
"Excuse me?" I asked as they stood in front of me.
"Mickey said to come get you and lead you to her." One of the guys said and I eyed them suspiciously. They seemed friendly enough so I decided to go along with them. It was a bad choice.
We entered a dark, creepy corner of school. I was about to ask where Mickey was when I was roughly pushed against the brick wall. The boys smiled coldly at me and a fist connected with my jaw. The punches kept coming and I realized that there Mickey never sent them nor was she here. This was all a trap.
The kicks and punches kept coming. My mind and vision going white and blury as the pain was embedded all over my body. I was already used to this sort of treatment due to my father but this beating was bringing back terrible memories.
It felt like forever before they finally stopped. Someone kicked me in my head and that made my vision go dark as I lost consciousness, not hearing the screaming of my name. Please just let this end already....
