"I don't get it, why wouldn't he just try to call me or something?" Echo wails, sulking in her chair. She spins around and around, trying to pass off boredom. She couldn't help the fact that she was bored. Sitting in the same desk, in the same room in the same chair. Gosh, she was so bored.
Footsteps came from the doorway, a taller figure standing in the way. "Call who?" he asks, obviously only hearing a little bit.
Her chair faced the opposite direction of the door. When Echo hears the rough voice, she almost jumps from her chair. "EEK!" she squeaks, whipping her chair around. She points a gun in the direction of the doorway, the end lining up with his head.
He just rolls his eyes at her. "Seriously? Put that down, you have work," he says, sounding like a parent. He didn't look much older than Echo. "I can hear your whining from the other room. Tell me why sound like a love sick puppy.
"I don't know?" she cutely questions, giving him a sheepish looking smile. Frowning when he came closer, she carelessly tosses the gun back onto the nightstand. "You shouldn't sneak up on me. Secret agent or not, I would've had the authority to shoot you," she heaves a huge sigh, hanging back in the chair.
It was his turn to roll his eyes. "What are you whining about?" he suspiciously asks, stepping closer to the screen monitor in the room. He squints at the uproar of numbers all in a line. "What are you doing here anyway?" he also asks, glaring at the second and third monitor. Suddenly they turn black, all except that one with the codes. He turns to look at Echo, holding cords in her hand.
She grins, holding them up. "You aren't aloud to see that project!" she hisses, waving the red cables in her hand.
He glares at them, cautiously moving his head away from the electric cables. "Why not? I'm in charge of you, aren't I?" His face has a sly smirk on it, making Echo stick her tongue out.
"Yeah, but only for this project!" she defends, "anythin' else is personal business, stuff that'cha can't see!" She puts her hands on her hips, smirking at him. "So leave me be, Maks!"
"Fine. I'll call you when it's time to go."
"Go where?"
"Seriously?" he sounds unimpressed. "We're heading out to get the info from the collector we put on the W household. Jo gave us the go ahead."
