The Vessel Arrives too Late!

The sun is starting to set. We ran for a while, hopping from tree limb to tree limb. The chakra levels that have been spiking have gone down considerably. From Choji and Neji. I don't sense the sound left behind either.

It's difficult to determine the winners. However I believe it's my friends. Because they're all stubborn, stupid fools, who wouldn't lose to a bunch of losers!

So I need to keep on pushing myself. We need to get Sasuke back. I bet, if he knew how many came for him, how they all want him back, if he could see I know he'd realize he wasn't alone. That they are his friends. Maybe if he knew, he'd stop.

No, don't think about that now. Focus on the mission. Who will be the next one to stop and battle us? Probably the two-headed freak. I don't know much about him. So it's hard to determine who's best to stay behind and fight him.

"We're close." Kiba informed us. Good. "There's only two of them left against the four of us. I like those odds. If we play it right, the next time we meet them we'll be able to wrap things up once and for all." Shikamaru inputted. I nodded in agreement.

I hope that's the outcome. Nice and simple. "I'll say! Two against four, no sweat!" Naruto was pumped. "What do you mean it's two against four?" Kiba asked. Akamaru barked angrily and I laughed nervously. That's right, forgot about him. "Oh, sorry about that Akamaru. It's two against five. I like those odds even better." Shikamaru corrected.

Kiba smirked. "Wait till they see our new technique. These clowns won't know what hit them, right boy?" He asked his ninja hound. Akamaru barked in agreement. "Don't worry about a thing. As soon as we catch up to them, all I got to do is use my Shadow Clone Jutsu and the shows over!" Naruto declared.

I raised an eyebrow at him. "Uh, whatever you say big bro. I'm just gonna wail on them." I shrugged uncaringly. I love learning new jutsu's, but hand to hand combat is just more satisfying. Besides, I'm pretty good and beating up bullies.

Just these specific ones will prove to be difficult. "Well that's comforting to know." Shikamaru said sarcastically. "Hey, I'll wail on you just the same." I threatened. He held his hands up in defense.

Hmpf. "All the same. We're working as a team here right. Just stick to the plan." I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, that plan where I all of a suddenly know Medical Ninjutsu. Wonderful idea there." He shot me an annoyed look. "I'm kind of hoping it works when we need it." Shikamaru stated. I sighed loudly. "How many times do I need to tell you? I break people, I don't fix them. It's just who I am."

They all sweat dropped at my claim. I shrugged. What? It's true. If they think for one second that I can heal them then they have problems.

"The most important thing is to get them in range before the sun goes down." Shikamaru spoke. That's true. Once night hits it won't be as easy to fight them. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's hit it!" Kiba encourage, picking up the pace.

We ran faster. "We've delayed them quite a bit. What with Shizune's squad and us, I'd say they've about reached their limit." The boys glanced back at me. "What do you mean?" They questioned.

I looked forward. "They needed him to leave last night. It had to be then. A trip to the GrassVillage is about two days. Meaning that he has to be there tomorrow night. Gramps once told me Orochimaru is only as how he his because he requires a new body every so many years. A vessel of sorts. And he's always had a sneaking suspicion he was after Itachi Uchiha. However with him in hiding that just leaves the only other Uchiha left. Sasuke. So I'm guessing that Sasuke is going to be used as his new body, but he has to reach that snake tomorrow. But with all these bumps in the roads, I'd say we've delayed the process considerably. I'd be difficult to make it back in time, especially with us chasing them."
