As I was walking, I sensed four different types of chakra. Usually it's not much considering everyone in the village has chakra of some form and I don't know all. But they flared up suddenly.
I don't recognize any of them. It can't be training, these are too strong. Chunin? Jonin? No, it feels off. Should I investigate? But Sasuke.
I froze, feeling Sasuke's chakra mix with something else. His curse mark. I quickly ran, deciding Flash Stepping into an unknown situation could be dangerous. As I ran, I noticed it wasn't far from the hospital. And those different chakra's . . . damn it!
I moved faster. As I neared I erased my presence and snuck near. Sasuke sat, curse mark activating. Four strangers in front of him. No, those are the ones from before who made that barrier. Bastards.
Ah, they have curse marks as well . . . tch. I threw a kunai and the one with silver hair backed up as I Flash Stepped to Sasuke and made my chakra chains come out and create a barrier.
"You're the one that destroyed our barrier." The silver haired man said. I let out a feral growl. These guys. "What do you want?" I hissed. These guys . . . I hate them.
The girl scoffed. "We're not talking to you. We're talking to Sasuke." I narrowed my eyes on her. "Listen here you butch bimbo, I don't care if you were only talking to him, I'm here now, now what the hell do you want?" She glared at me murderously.
"Now, now Tayuya. We've said what we wanted to. Sasuke, remember your purpose!" The silver hair said and the four jumped up to the sky and disappeared. I let down my barrier and lightly touched Sasuke's arm. He's a bit beat up.
"Sasuke are you al-" I jumped at the look in his eyes. He looks wild. Like he did when he reunited with Itachi back at the hotel. He blinked out of it and turned to me. So many negative emotions swirled in his eyes but there was one in there that reminded me of trouble. Determination. "Miyuna. I'm going to Orochimaru tonight."
What? Seeing the look on my face he gently touched my cheek. "I need power. And he can give it to me. Miyuna, come with me." I was at a loss of words. This came from no where. No, a part of me worried he'd accept Orochimaru's proposition. But now that it's happening . . .
"Why?" I asked hoarsely. "Because, I want you with me." Sasuke. He wants me to leave everything, my friends, the village, my brother, my twin. "Sasuke, you can't. Orochimaru is evil. He's using you. You can't go!" A warm sensation occurred and something wet rolled down my cheek. Ah, I'm crying.
"I have to. I've decided on revenge. That's always been my reason for living." I shook my head. "Why? Why revenge? Why can't you stay here, with us, with me?" I cried. He looked at me carefully before wiping the tears from my eyes. "I've always been on that path. It's the only path I can take. For a while, I thought I could walk the same path as you guys. But I can't. But you're similar to me. You understand the feeling of solitude. I won't let him use me the way he wants. I just want power. I must kill Itachi."
I shook my head. "Please don't." He instantly got angry. "Why?! You were there that day! You saw what he did to my family! And then he did that to you! You lost your memories of the Uchiha! Do you know how hard it was not to approach you?! You were my best friend, since the beginning. Before the academy! And when you lost your memory, I couldn't be with you. Because if I did, I would bring back memories. And I didn't want you to remember being betrayed, especially by Itachi. You and him had a special bond. And then he did that. I didn't want you to remember. But in order for me to do that, I couldn't be near you. I already lost you!"
Eh?
I never thought of how it affected him. But . . . I left Sasuke all alone. I left a boy I loved all alone. And that's why he was put on this path. "I'm so sorry." I whispered. He smiled lightly before turning serious.
"I don't want to lose you again. If I did, I don't think I could handle it. But I'm not changing my mind. Please. Come with me."
Sasuke . . .
Biting my lip I looked down. "Sasuke, do you remember when we were little, when the two of us found our base?" I asked, referring to an empty field in the forest. He nodded, confused. "That in a few years we'd make lots of friends. That we would become ninja and protect the things we care about? And that other promise?"
~Six years ago~
Giggling I broke through the clearing to our base. A large vacant field with long soft grass. "I win!" I shouted, throwing my hands up. Sasuke ran up to me, frowning. "Hey, you cheated!" He accused.
I frowned at him. "Don't be a sore loser." I grumbled before running out to the middle and collapsing on the grass. Sasuke followed my example. The wind blew overhead and the long soft grass moved with it, tickling me.
It's such a nice day. "So we're officially academy students." I stated. Sasuke chuckled from next to me. "Yeah. We are. Dad's been teaching me Fire Style Jutsu's. I rolled over onto my stomach and stared at him in awe. "Really?! That's incredible!" I praised.
He blushed a bit and rolled onto his stomach. "Thanks. I've got a good feeling. I'll be just as good as big brother when I grow up."
"Eh? As Itachi? You sure dream big." I muttered. His face flushed and he glared at me. "What's that supposed to mean?!" I laughed at his reaction. "I'm just kidding. But, I think you're going to be an amazing ninja on your own. There's no need to impersonate Itachi."
He blinked at me. "You really think so?" He asked. I closed my eyes and grinned. "Of course! You're going to be an amazing ninja, and so will I!" He smiled at that. "It's good to see you wanting to be a ninja."
I pouted. "Of course! I want to be able to protect Naruto, you, Itachi, and your parents. I got to protect those I love." I stated as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Sasuke chuckled. "What about friends?" I frowned at that, looking down. "I don't have any other friends." I stated. Everyone hates me. Who would be my friend? "You can't think like that!" I rolled my eyes at that. He pouted before a light bulb went off in his head. "Okay, how about this! By the time we graduate, we'll have lots of friends, that way we have more motivation to be ninjas!"
I gave him a flat stare. "Eh? That sounds like a lot of work." I muttered, completely uninterested. "If you promise to make friends, I promise not to walk in Itachi's footsteps." This perked my interest. Looking back at him I raised an eyebrow. "Promise?" I asked suspiciously. He grinned and held out his pinky. "Promise. You and I will become the best ninja's and we can protect everyone we love." Smiling I hooked my pinky though his and shook.
Sasuke blushed a bit. "Hey Miyu, do you think we could be together forever?" He asked, looking down. Looking at him carefully I grinned. "Of course! I want to be with Sasuke forever!" He blushed more and held out his pinky again. "Then it's a promise. Sasuke Uchiha and Miyuna Uzumaki will be together forever, all through time."
Why the dramatics? I'm not sure, but I could feel slight heat rise into my cheeks. Hooking my pinky with his, we promised.
~Present~
"I love you Sasuke. I would do anything for you. But if I went with you, I would break that promise, I'd be the one betraying those I care about. I'd be no better then Itachi who betrayed me. I'd betray that promise. And if you leave, you'd break that promise. You'd be betraying me."
I looked up at him, tears still in my eyes. "Sasuke, please. Don't leave me too." He cringed slightly, not liking the pain in my voice and on my face. He didn't like he was putting me through it. "I'm sorry Miyu. I don't want to betray that promise. But I need to do this."
I shook my head. "No, I won't let you. This is dangerous; I can't allow you to go!" He gave me a determined look. But I could see sadness behind it. "I'm sorry Miyuna." He moved his hand from my cheek and struck the pressure point on the back of my neck.
My eyes widened in shock and Sasuke became blurry. No. "Sasuke." I whispered before losing consciousness.
Sasuke, don't leave.
