happy endings

a week had passed and now everyone was talking about back to school.

~

samuel still wanted to get (y/n)'s memories back, obviously.

many people would tell him it was hopeless, but he ignored them.

~

today, (y/n) was sitting and debating on whether or not to enter into a new school.

~

samuel still came over often to check on (y/n).

it was the only thing on his mind.

~

weeks had passed and (y/n) and samuel were only friends.

though, (y/n) was still quite awkward, samuel was happy they were spending time together.

~

but, as fate would have it, things weren't going to be so peaceful.

~

"samuel?"

"hi, mr. (l/n). is (y/n) home?"

"you haven't hear have you, son?"

"heard what?"

"(y/n) just left for school in america. she didn't tell you?"

~

and in an instant samuel's world fell apart once again.

as if pretty much losing the girl that was always by his side was bad enough, she was leaving the country?

~

he called and texted her.

no answers. no replies.

~

he ran to daniel's house, calling him multiple times with no answer.

finally he reached the familiar house.

rapidly knocking on his friends door he was greeted by seongwoo.

~

"seongwoo, what are you doing at daniel- never mind. i'm not even gonna think about that, but you need to help me!"

"first of all, samuel, it's not what you think so relax and you're too young to be thinking like that. and two, what's wrong?"

"(y/n) left the country i need you to drive me to the airport."

"what?!"

~

soon - after rushing daniel to get ready - they all rushed to the airport to find (y/n).

"what flight is she?"

~

samuel froze.

he didn't know.

he tried calling her cell phone.

after three attempts she finally answered.

~

"samuel?"

she's still here.

"where are you?"

"um, at home-"

"what flight are you on?"

"how did you know?"

"tell me."

"no. it's best if i just go. all i'm doing is hurting you. plus this school is-"

"flight 2002."

"i have to go."

~

you're not leaving me. not again.

~

samuel ran towards the digital sign with her flight number.

there she stood.

she was looking at her phone and he thanked the heavens her flight was delayed.

~

"(y/n)!"

she looked up and he ran towards her.

samuel hugged her smaller frame tightly, picking her up off the ground.

"you can't leave me."

"samuel... i don't remember you. i can't stay and hurt you anymore. i have to leave. i'm sorry... and i appreciate what you've done but... i can't love you. you should move on from me. find someone who will make you happy. i know you will. this will be better for the both of us. it hurts me to see you like this and it's too hard to be happy when i'm hurting you so it's best if i leave so you can move on and not waste anymore time on me."

~

samuel wiped his tears away and her own.

she couldn't bear to break his heart.

he didn't want her to leave.

but he knew she had to.

~

he let her go with one last kiss on the head.

he knew deep down, that things wouldn't be the same.

he knew to make her happy, she had to leave.

and that's what he wanted. was for his girl to be happy.

when you love something, let it free.

and that's exactly what samuel did.

~

happy endings?

nope.

just another cliché.
